The Breakfast Club co-host Lenard McKelvey pka Charlamagne Tha God is no stranger to controversy. This latest kerfuffle with LGBTQ+ rap artist Saucy Santana may help him be a full-on gay man. This is no disrespect. Scores of people ease out of the shadows and let their truths shine. Let him be the next if that is the case. There has been no greater time in human history for him to do it. Prepare for The Top Five Reasons Why Charlamagne Tha God Might be Tip-Toeing Out of the Closet.

5. McKelvey seemed somewhat bothered by Saucy Santana

In the interview, the disc jockey wanted to let Angela Yee do most of the talking. However, he interjected a few times to provoke and prod the guest with suspect questions that generally focused on his music output and not his sexuality. He should be commended for this fact even though he appeared to be a bit off-kilter with his own line of questioning. What makes his truly appalling journalistic skills so apparent are the ways that McKelvey wishes to go for the obvious questions rather than to probe for more in depth ways of asking for more information.

4. McKelvey wasn’t capable enough of trying to get his ideas across

There were times where Saucy Santana looked at McKelvey not with disgust but pure bewilderment. The rapper had to laugh it off on a few occasions. It seems that the alleged sugar in McKelvey’s tank kept him from truly asking pertinent questions. If McKelvey could just embrace his true self, then maybe he will have enough words for performers like Saucy Santana. The guest was bubbly and comfortable within his own skin. Effeminate and effusive, Saucy Santana was showing that he can be gay in hip hop and still be happy and joyous. McKelvey seems somewhat reluctant to get to this level of true selfhood.

3. Without Raashaun “DJ Envy” Casey, McKelvey had no male partner to bounce ideas

While Angela could do the whole show by herself, her male cohorts don’t project the same stamina as the lady of the house. In talks with Santana, she addressed Saucy Santana’s interactions with City Girls, clearing records, and touring amongst a whole host of other topics. McKelvey just sat back and never fully engaged with the guest or the listener.

2. Mckelvey has already taken steps to prolong the process of coming out

While Saucy Santana was zesty, flamboyant, and out there, McKelvey was reserved, attempting to show some stoicism. This seemed like a front the entire time. He is an advocate of mental health. That should mean that he could open up the door and walk out of the closet unashamed and unafraid of what others may think of him. He ought to use his knowledge of mental wellness to confess his reality.

1. McKelvey invited a radio station employee to do moves for Saucy Santana

McKelvey dragged a random station worker to bust a move for Saucy Santana. By just asking for this young man going by the alias “Art” to spin and pop for the guest shows that McKelvey is struggling to find a way for Moquosha to struggle out of him and let him finally be free. This awkward exchange demonstrated that the jock has to deal with his own truth. For Saucy Santana to just say “you buggin’” was classy after he could have been heated for Mckelvey trying to make a mockery of him.

The weird moment actually lends itself to McKelvey’s entire life and career. He’s not a “shock jock” he’s a mock jock. Over the past few years, he has made a name for himself calling other people donkeys when he is in fact the real jackass for not opening the door to let out his inner self.
