In the nation’s capital, Pride Month not only celebrates the progress made in LGBTQ+ rights but also underscores the ongoing fight for equality and acceptance, making it a time of both reflection and joyous celebration. Local businesses and landmarks, such as the U.S. Capitol and the White House, are displaying rainbow flags and lights to show their solidarity and support of the LGBTQ+ community.

Washington, D.C., is also celebrating Pride Month with an array of vibrant events and activities that showcase the city's commitment to LGBTQ+ rights and inclusivity. Throughout June, the city will host numerous events catering to diverse interests. These include the Pride Walk & Rally, Drag Queen Story Hours at local libraries, and special exhibitions at the Smithsonian museums highlighting LGBTQ+ history and culture. The Dupont Circle neighborhood, a historic hub for the LGBTQ+ community, will host pop-up markets and outdoor parties.

Some of the biggest events will take place this weekend. Festivities include the annual Capital Pride Parade, a colorful and joyous procession through the heart of the city, featuring floats, performers, and thousands of participants and spectators. It will be followed by the Capital Pride Festival, a day-long event on Pennsylvania Avenue that includes live music, food vendors, and informational booths from various LGBTQ+ organizations.

For those in the partying mood, Washington DC’s premiere nightlife producers are partnering with Capital Pride Alliance for a series of official Capital Pride partner events taking place at various venues throughout the city. The events will feature world class DJs including Jerac and Dani Brasil and a performance by bi-sexual pop phenomenon Slayyyter.

Slayyyter performs tomorrow night's "Under the Sea" party at Echo Stage.

“We are proud to team up with Capital Pride Alliance for four incredible celebrations that will not only make this year’s Pride a weekend to remember, but will also provide much needed funds to our local LGBTQ+ community,” says producer Dougie Meyer, who along with Jesus Quispe, and Zach Renovates, make up the team behind KINETIC Presents.

The action-packed weekend began yesterday when KINETIC presented Splash at Soundcheck. The evening featured international DJ Sam Gee on the decks. Gee is a NYC-based DJ who travels the world spinning large gay festival events, most recently in Houston, São Paulo and Chicago and is known for delivering a high-energy, vocal sound.

If you missed it, no need to despair. The party continues tonight with the UNCUT XL event at Republiq Hall (2122 24th Pl NE). KINETIC will take over all three rooms of the massive nightclub, with specially designed play zones and a main floor that is large enough to accommodate thousands. The international DJ duo, Millennial (J Warren and Joe Pacheco), will spin from 10pm to 4am.

The weekend’s main event, KINETIC Under the Sea, takes place tomorrow night, June 8th, at DC’s premiere dance venue, Echostage (2135 Queens Chapel Rd NE). For this ultimate underwater themed experience, clubgoers are encouraged to dress in creative nautical looks while experiencing the music of international DJs Jerac and Dani Brasil. Global popstar Slayyyter will perform live. The bisexual 27-year-old singer-songwriter has been making a name for herself by adding a dash of internet-age chaos to bubbly dance pop on songs such as 2019’s “Daddy AF.” Her latest release, the EP Starfucker, has propelled the singer-songwriter into the upper echelon of pop.

DC Pride's weekend wraps on Sunday June 9th with an epic finale: discoVERS, taking place at SAX (734 11th St NW) in Downtown DC. Disco-diva Alexis Tucci makes her triumphant return to DC to close out the weekend with a bang, spinning her high-energy disco house set from 10pm to 3am with pop up performances seamlessly integrated into the evening.

GA and VIP passes for KINETIC Pride 2024 are available now at kineticpresents.com. A portion of the proceeds to be donated to the Capital Pride Alliance.
