On Mekahel is a Quadruple Threat

On Mekahel, the star of the hit REVRY reality show, Putting On, and the designer behind the popular Mounderwear athletic line, is adding pop singer to his resume with the debut of his first music single, “Play with Fire”.

Produced by DJ Ran Ziv, the song reflects on the artist’s life and interests and infuses emotion and soul to create a European house and dance-pop sound. Mekahel says he found his inspiration to record “Play with Fire” from his husband; the most attractive man in his eyes.

“'Play with Fire' is about that passion people feel, especially in those initial moments of being drawn toward someone they are meant to share a deep connection with,” he explains.

The Los Angeles-based out artist says he wanted to create a special song for Pride and set out to make a high-energy track that captured the level of excitement and anticipation that is found in today's gay dance clubs.

“When my husband and I go out to clubs, we can find ourselves in a sea of people, yet it feels like it’s just the two of us together because our connection is so strong. It’s like some magnetic attraction.”

“Play with Fire” is part of an EP that On Mekahel is currently working on. He hopes it encourages listeners to focus on what they want and to follow their hearts. "If you want someone׳s attention, go and get it!"

Mekahel admits that he found the second half of his twenties to be challenging. He was forced to face some of the most dramatic shifts in his life. However, embracing the difficult moments eventually led to his gaining confidence and experiencing personal growth. “I had an epiphany last year after some personal struggles,” he says. “It was time to stop doubting myself and to go after my musical ambitions.”

"Without the tough lessons I learned from taking risks and following my heart amid so many successes and failures," he continues, "I would have never found the courage to record this song."

On Mekahel is an all-encompassing entrepreneur. He is a model, actor, fashion designer and social media influencer with nearly three million followers. He is best known for starring on the REVRY reality show, Putting On, the series that followed the ups and downs of his personal and business life. In two seasons, viewers watched as the underwear model built his Mounderwear fashion empire from the ground up, navigating through the many challenges and pitfalls of the competitive fashion industry. It came as a surprise to fans when he announced in 2021 that he was exiting the show.

Mounderwear, his fashion line, continues to thrive today with On Mekahel recently announcing the company’s summer 2024 collection.

In addition to his fashion brand, On Mekahel heads a creative agency for social media marketing, specializing in video production.

On Mekahel was born in Israel, the youngest son of a CPA and lawyer father and naturopath doctor mother. “I was that kid that performed in every school and community event,” he recalls. “The one that would always give a show wherever I was. The world has always been my stage.”

After finishing his army services in Israel, Mekahel moved to New York to study acting at The Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute. While studying, he was the personal assistant to supermodel Naomi Campbell.

Five years ago, On Mekahel moved to Los Angeles with his partner, David Cederberg. They married the same year in Paris.

On Mekahel is excited for Pride month. When not touring, he plans to spend time with his husband and their dogs.
