After tending to all of their wounds, luckily none of them needed anything more than disinfectant and band-aids. Camila decided that they needed a home-cooked meal. So she went to make dinner for them. During that time, Luz turned to her friends, giving her girlfriend’s hand a squeeze. “We can’t let my mom know that we're dating,” Luz said in a hushed voice.

“Does your mom not want you getting involved with someone? My dad can be a bit overprotective too sometimes,” Gus kept their voice down as well.

Luz shook her head. “No, it’s just I’m not out to her yet...” Luz sadly admitted, much to the confusion of the witches. “On the Boiling Isles, it’s ok to like people that are the same gender as them, like you Amity, and Willow’s dads, and people like me and Eda who love people of any gender, and especially people like Raine who don't identify as the gender they were assigned at birth, and especially those that don’t identify as either. People here are bad with... that… I know about people who got kicked out of their homes because of it.” She was met with looks of silent horror.

“Uh, Luz, I don’t think you can hide this very long. One of you ends up blushing every time you talk, so either you tell her, or she’ll find out herself.”

“Willow’s right Luz,” an awkward, blushing Amity admitted as she squeezed Luz’s hand. “We need to tell her soon. I don't think we can hide it, your mom seems much more... observant," she waved her hand as she said the word, "than mine," she knew that her parents didn't know about them until they were told. But then, sexuality wasn’t the problem, and Amity wasn't close to either of her parents.

“I don’t think that Camila will have any problem with you liking girls, Luz, not after how accepting she was with me,” inputed Vee. “She is very kind.”

“Ok, but if I’m doing this, I’m doing it big! Dramatic! Exciting! I should make a video compilation!” Everyone was glad that the human was acting more like her energetic self. She turned to the illusionist. “And Gus, I’m going to need your help.” She started telling them her plan.

The room fell silent as Camila entered.

“Oh, am I interrupting something?” She smirked, “is there something I need to know?”

“No- no, Mrs. Noceda, we’ve all just been through a lot.” Amity resisted the urge to hold Luz's hand.

“Amity, please, call me Camila and that goes for all of you,” she smiled as she gave them bowls of sancocho, something that Luz excitedly devoured. Soon they were all eating the warm food.

She started talking once all of them were eating. “As for where you’re sleeping, the boys will sleep in the basement and the girls will stay in Luz’s and Vee’s room,”

Before they went to bed, Luz told them all about the different identities and flags, but also more about homophobia, biphobia, and transphobia. This horrified them, and it was even enough to stop Gus from excitedly examining everything in the room. Then Luz also started making her digital presentation so she wouldn't have to say it. All of her friends helped her choose what pictures from her phone to use. Since Luz decided that she would come out as soon as possible, she planned on spending the night trying to hyper-focus on it, but she was just too tired and fell asleep holding hands with Amity.

That night in the basement, Hunter helped Gus with his illusions. In an ironic twist of fate, Gus was bad at remembering and perfectly recreating exact colors when they were not part of something he'd seen in real life, not just a picture. Hunter, on the other hand, had a perfect color memory. He made sure Gus got those three colors just right before he let him go to sleep. He knew what it was like to mess up in front of someone that took the role of a parental figure. He knew that Camila wasn’t like that, but Luz said she wanted it to be perfect, so it would be. He was her friend, something he never had before, and he wanted to do everything right so she wouldn't leave him, even though that would be nearly impossible at this point.

It took until lunch the next day for her to finish the presentation, even with the shopping trip. They were going to do it after lunch. She gave up the fight and let Hunter wash the dishes, after she taught him how, that is. Willow and Gus went to the other room but stayed by the door listening, as Luz ran to grab her laptop.

Back in the kitchen, the human stood next to her girlfriend. “Mama,” Luz said, anxiety laced in her words, as she forced herself to look at her mom, and not her feet. Her girlfriend placed a grounding hand on her back, remembering how awkward and stressed she was when she asked her out, or for most of it at least. She played her video.

As per the plan, Gus proceeded to cover the kitchen with illusions of him holding pride flags and just pride flags around the room. This took Camila by surprise more than her daughter’s sexuality. Not wanting her to think that she wasn’t supportive, she turned her attention to the girls. “I don’t care that you like girls Maja, I'm just so happy that you found someone!” smiling, she pulled both of them into a hug. Luz and Amity let out a breath that neither knew they were carrying and hugged back.

She knelt down so she was at eye level with the teens. "Ok, first Amity promise that you will never hurt my baby."

“Of course, as her awesome girlfriend I would never do such a thing!” she answered with a very determined look and tone.

“If you two are alone in a room the door needs to be open, and I don’t mean cracked open just a little I mean wide open,” she gave Luz a knowing look, “and since you’re sharing the room with Willow and Vee, I guess that sleeping in the same room will be fine,” she was a little hesitant about that. “But if you give me any reason why you shouldn’t stay in the same room, Luz will be sleeping with me in my room.” She fixed them in a no-nonsense glare for a second as that seeped in, but it quickly went back to joy.

“But Luz, I’m still very happy that you found someone, even if she is from a different world. I’m so glad that you found friends there too.” She hugged her daughter, who was now holding Amity’s hand. “Hopefully you’ll be able to keep that up when you go back to school on Monday.”

Luz froze, terrified at the concept of going back to human school and having to interact with teens, without her friends to help her.
