Social engineer, hip hop icon, mixtape legend, reality TV star, podcast host, and all-around alternative thinker Joseph Anthony Budden II known to the world as Joe Budden has said that he is bisexual.

The man that rapped “Pump it Up” and released Mood Muzik mixtapes at one time now may be pumping information about the behaviors of someone who enjoys the touch of both men and women.

Joe Budden’s revelation is not ground shaking in terms of hip hop artists who have come out as totally gay such as Montero Lamar “Lil” Nas X” Hill.

This news is about showing his truth. Even if he were trolling, he can’t walk back his words. The LGBTQ+ movement will have his head if he even hinted at not being genuine. When it comes to this movement, they play no games with people who play around with the specific identity they project.

The “Welcome to Real Life” rapper saying this is just an affirmation of who he is. No one should care in this day and age. The reason why Joe Budden is coming out now is because he looked deep inside himself and wanted to let love fly.

Other men and women who Joe Budden may have already had relationships with or will have in the future should be honored for Joe’s honesty. It’s simply an assertion for everyone else. But for the general public, Joe Budden’s message now must be checked and rechecked. LGBTQ+ members will not even bat an eye unless he reveals that he was clout chasing and hungry for attention and views.

At the moment, Joe Budden seems sincere. He appears to be positioned to go on a media tour of other talk shows in the mainstream. Will he do acting roles now? Will Budden be the first bisexual rapper to discover an even larger platform than his podcast? Will he appear on network television or cable networks?

Now, it seems as if Joe Budden will continue to be an architect on the media landscape of the Internet. His name and fame mean more at this moment, possibly because he can now live honeslty.

Once he blurted it out, he couldn’t put the genie back in the bottle. And that is not for something ill. If he wants to be on the line for going both ways that’s okay for him; if he wants to be a power bottom then that’s his business. He should not be chastised or maligned for his revelation.

When the coming weeks display Budden’s real self, he will be able to experience that sense of relief from the moment that he opened his mouth speaking on the issue.

To clearly and profoundly proclaim his life’s reality should be seen as something to yawn at for the straight crowd and for the LGBTQ+ to celebrate. Budden should be honored by this movement. For all the breeders of the world, there should be a shrug.

His life is in such a fishbowl that he should be able to parlay this sort of behavior into a worthy cause. He will have the opportunity for young men and women and nonbinary individuals to express themselves without having to worry about backlash. Joe Budden may spark a full-on movement of his own within the hip hop genre. To consider just how many millions will expose their behaviors to the world. In a time where it's alright to come out of the closet and be one’s own self in the safest time probably in all of human history, it is important to mention that Joe Budden will probably connect with certain 501(c)(3) organizations that promote LGBTQ+ causes.

Joe Budden may just blaze a trail for bisexuals. For the straights, they should roll their eyes and applaud. Not just because they are allies, but because they are supportive humans of another human.
