Stuffed French Toast Strain Review

Watching The Matrix, medicating, and raiding my kitchen.

My phone’s fluorescent blue screen lit up and flashed a message while I was lounging on the couch, several episodes deep into a binge-watch of Love and Hip Hop Atlanta.

The message was a strain recommendation, this particular strain went by the name of Stuffed French Toast, and it was a hybrid. I usually don’t make my smoking choice off someone’s word and prefer to sniff out the perfect one in store. But this tip came from a credible source, trustworthy enough in fact, to make me deviate from my rule of no sativas or hybrids.

The shop was packed when I got there, but Stuffed French Toast could only be gotten from one distributor and grower in my area. I approached the counter and told the friendly budtender what I was after.

He had shoulder-length wavy brown hair that shook when he talked. He also had rings on every finger, my favorite being a gold eyeball displayed across his middle finger. Diamonds twinkled along the eyelashes. A crystal necklace hung from his neck, and his eyes were low and glazed over. The whole time he was smiling from ear to ear. I’m not complaining. He was easily impressed with my dull day and generous with the compliments. When he handed me my bag of goodies, he said,

“here’s some gas for ya.”

First Impressions

Stuffed French Toast Strain at a Glance:

Appearance: 6

Taste: 6

Smell: 7

Effects: 9

Overall: 7

Due to covid, some dispensaries have stopped letting patients smell their product. So I had to wait until I got home for the grand reveal. Honestly, it wasn’t the most potent smelling bud. Stuffed French Toast had a light, airy smell that was hard to pin down. Similar to cotton candy, but when ground up, I noticed more peppery herb notes. Along the same lines as sage or basil. It reminded me of the crisp, peppery flavor and smell of an arugula salad.

As I mentioned, the bud structure left something to be desired. It wasn’t very dense, but the nugs were frosty, and when squeezed, I noticed a decent amount of stickiness.

I wasn’t blown away with the look or smell, but my best highs have come from ugly-looking weed. (Don’t judge a book by its cover). Stuffed French Toast tasted as it smelled. Semi-sweet but also earthy and plant-like. The high set in like drinking alcohol. It started in my throat and seeped across my face and eyes as I got further into smoking.

The Experience

The high was almost entirely cerebral. It felt like I was wearing a helmet that caused skull numbing. Usually, I’m not too fond of a head high because it stirs up anxiety, but I smoked it in the morning, and it actually helped center my focus and gave me a little extra energy for the day. It was easy to slip into my thoughts and ride the buzz down whatever rabbit hole my brain wanted to go down.

My friend who recommended Stuffed French Toast told me it made her ask herself questions and answer them. Reminds me of saying my mom used to tell me when she caught me talking to myself.

“As long as no ones answering”

My girlfriend and I watched The Matrix shortly after smoking, and I was internally analyzing every scene whilst also trying to remind myself that I was still breathing. It’s also worth mentioning I managed to devour my entire reserve of Christmas candy and still craved snacks (plan accordingly).

I felt creative and tuned in to the moment at hand. I can see this strain being beneficial for anxiety and depression, layering the mind with a happy and centered high.

I noticed a numb, relaxing ease toward the end of my experience with Stuffed French Toast. I wasn’t sleepy after the strain wore off, and I felt good to move into the next part of my day with a clear mind. I would recommend this strain for those who usually go for more relaxing marijuana strains but are looking for something to consume during the day.

It wasn’t overpowering but offered a pleasant ride of thoughtful discussion and only a few slight existential crises. With myrcene being the dominant terpene in this strain, it should balance out any nervous jitters that may arise.

Whether you just picked up some Stuffed French Toast and wanted to learn more about it, or you’re looking to try some, thank you for reading! And regardless of whether you try this strain or not, happy smoking!
