One of the things that excited me about my cannabis journey was definitely trying edibles. I’ve been able to decipher what product works the best for me while having a lot of fun doing it. For this first product review I’m going to be discussing Stone Age gummies.

Stone Age Edibles are based in Portland, Oregon and are mainly distributed to dispensaries in Oregon. I purchased a high dose single, 24 oz. THC gummy from a Portland based dispensary called Tree House Collective.

Pricing

The gummy was only $8. Usually a pack of gummies that I’ve come across cost around $20 or higher so I was very pleased with my purchase.

Dosing

The amount of THC per gram in the total package is 70 mg. The entire gummy is shaped like an arrowhead to go with the stone age theme which I think is pretty cute. There's 10 servings that are outlined in small triangles for the consumer to easily portion out the servings for themselves. When I first purchased the gummy I didn't know that it's advertised on Stone Age's website as a “high dose” gummy. That being said, I assumed that it was going to affect me the same way as most gummies that I have had in the past. Considering I'm still a bit new to cannabis products, I have a lower tolerance than someone who smokes every day. That being said I usually dose whatever product I'm trying around 5 mg. I thought, well, 7 mg isn't that much higher, so I tried that amount and it affected me quite a bit. I didn’t have a full blown panic attack. However, I felt pretty drowsy and just kind of wanted to sleep and not do anything.

From then on, I ended up cutting the 7 mg portions into 3.5 mg portions. It's also important to note that the activation time is 45 minutes.

Overall High

I would take one, chill and listen to music. THC also helps me to tap into my creativity and get some writing done.

With this product, I sometimes still felt a little hazy the following day after taking it. So I wasn't consistently sampling every day and I think it took me a few weeks to finish it. I definitely felt like I got my money's worth since it was only $8.

Taste

I tried the lemonade flavor and the initial taste was fine. It just had a strange after taste from the cannabis extract. I feel like masking the flavor of cannabis extract isn’t easy so I’ll cut them some slack. It wasn't displeasing enough for me to not want to finish sampling the entire product.

Critiques

I know there are some edible brands, like Drops that label what strain they use to make their edibles. I would have liked it if these edibles were labeled. From the outcome I feel like it might have been a hybrid but I’m not sure.

Final Thoughts

As with any edible, I would stress to make sure you consume responsibly. Don't drive while high. It’s also advised not to consume the entire gummy in one sitting. Instead, portion out the product to avoid harmful effects, especially if you are prone to anxiety. I’ve had experiences where I, for example, didn’t wait the whole activation time before taking more of an edible and had a full blown panic attack.

In conclusion, I definitely would recommend this product. It's inexpensive and effective.
