Sandy had already decided she was not goin to call Cedric later because she had no intentions on goin over there for supper. And it wasn’t because of Cedric eating beef. Sandy was known to cheat a time or two herself because, as she would justify to herself, who doesn’t like a real good steak every once in a while?

Sandy had decided that she wasn’t going to go back to Cedric’s for supper or for anything else, for that matter, simply because she liked him.

And she knew in her head that didn’t make any sense, but since the kids had their own lives on opposite ends of the country, she kinda enjoyed her solitude. She retired not too long ago. And since technology has made it possible to get all of her basic needs delivered to her, she kinda enjoyed the fact that the only time she had to go outside was when Minnie had to go outside.

But not for nothin, she was also starting to become afraid that her introverted self was becoming misanthropic.

Until she met Cedric and his whole vibe made her whole body blush. Not only was he physically appealing but he was quick witted and kind. So in fact, misanthropy was not the issue because only a fool would deny that she liked this man.

Sandy smiled to herself softly as she unhooked Minnie’s leash and hung it on a hook by the door. Minnie scurried off to the back bedroom where she curled herself up in a little ball atop of her little silk pillow and went to sleep. Sandy took it upon herself to putter into the kitchen and fix herself a veggie egg scramble complete with tater tots, English Muffin, juice and coffee.

Sandy loved a hearty breakfast mainly because she believed in fueling one’s body for the day, and since Sandy used to teach at all three branches of the local college she needed the fuel to keep goin.

But this morning, she needed just to be full enough to not want to eat chili with the gorgeous man in the woods. And sure, maybe since Sandy’s retirement while perusing for something to watch on television her attention may have lingered too long on The Investigation Discovery channel and they may have stunted her trust in humanity a tad.

Not to the extreme that Sandy thought if she went over there she’d become the chili, but she was more concerned about becoming enamored with Cedric and being gassy at the same time.

So as inviting as it was on one of the remaining few days that ol man winter had decided to hang on and sit outside snd allow a slight breeze to tease her while eating a warm, spicy bowl of chili and drinkin a cold beer…

…Sandy decided she would avoid the opportunity all together and she went back to chopping the veggies for her breakfast scramble.

As a matter of fact, while she was making her breakfast, she already decided that she was going to open the windows and air out the house, grab a bucket of Pine Sol and water and get some Spring cleaning done before She got there. Cuz everyone knows, Spring is sassy but fast. Soon as ya figure out the perfect sweater to wear, the boldness of Summer comes crashing through yo door and stompin up yo stairs like an unwanted visitor that don’t speak to you when they come in the door.

But at least if her little bungalow was freshened up for Spring, the oppressiveness of Summer wouldn’t weigh her down…
