Evolution of Cannabis

My dad was a hippie who grew up in the late 60s and was open with me about how he often smoked pot in his youth. I can only imagine what kind of dank weed he must've been smoking compared to evolved strains that exist today. In addition to the evolution of cannabis strains and the vast array of cannabis products to choose from, but we've also seen a huge evolution in technology and the improved methods of cannabis consumption that include digital vaporizers such as the Pax 3 vaporizer.

Buying weed has also become a lot simpler nowadays as it's become more acceptable. Gone are the days where you had to meet "your guy" on some corner late at night as Canada moves towards legalization making access to marijuana easily. Aside from each province providing cannabis retail stores across Canada, there are currently over 100 online dispensaries currently existing which allow the purchase of mail order marijuana that is delivered to your door in just a few days.

The strains alone have evolved through methods of breeding thus creating 100s of different strains that provide a more potent and medicinally-effective indica and sativa strains including Strawberry Cough, Durban Poison, Trainwreck, and Cherry Pie to name a few. With so many strains to choose from it's important to do your research on different strains as each strain can provide different benefits and have a different composition.

The two most common strains of marijuana are indica and sativa. Indica is the type of weed that will usually make you drowsy and put you on your ass which is why it's synonymous with the phrase "in da couch." Sativa on the other hand is known to be uplifting and energetic.

If you're looking to purchase cannabis indica, you can find popular strains such as Grandaddy Purple, Northern Lights, Pineapple Kush, Purple Kush, God Bud, Hindu Kush, and other strains of indica on the Weed List website.

Alternatively if you're looking to purchase sativa, there are several popular strains available on Weed List which include Strawberry Cough, Cherry Pie, Durban Poison, Trainwreck, and more.

Cannabis strains both have varying levels of CBD (cannabidiol) and THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) which are compounds called cannabinoids which are found in marijuana. THC is the psychoactive component which provides the psychological "high" with mind-altering effects while CBD is non-psychoactive and provides medicinal benefits.

Both THC and CBD have medicinal benefits as well. THC is well known for aiding sleep and drowsiness, an appetite stimulant, a muscle relaxant, and provides the feeling of euphoria and relaxation. CBD on the other hand provides medicinal benefits such as anti-anxiety, anti-psychotic, anti-tumoral, painkilling, and an anti-inflammatory.

Marijuana edibles have also evolved from your basic homemade edibles such as pot cookies or brownies to a wide variety of delicious candies and baked goods such as weed gummies, lollipops, chocolates, and other edibles that will hit your sweet tooth while providing a nice high.

In less than a decade, vaping cannabis has become the widely popularized method of consumption as it can provide a more potent high and also provides the benefit of being more cost effective than smoking strains. Vaporizers have proven to be far superior than smoking joints or hitting the bong and are becoming increasingly more popular.

The area of concentrates such as shatter, phoenix tears, and oils can be consumed as well which are a growing method too.
