CBD is the newest craze going around and it’s for good purpose. Many people proudly talk about how CBD is helping them through life. Whether it’s calming their mind or body down, it is helping them better than their medicine sometimes. Even people who are against cannabis are raving about cannabidiol. Although CBD is a cannabinoid from cannabis, it does not get you high like THC does.

If you are used to smoking weed, CBD is not going to be much different. You can use the same ways to consume weed as you do with hemp. Whether you want to roll your paper up or just take it through an edible, it can be done.

What is CBD?

Cannabidiol or CBD is one of the cannabinoids from the cannabis plant. There are over 100 cannabinoids with each one doing something different that’s beneficial to the body, thanks to the endocannabinoid system. CBD oil does not contain any psychoactive ingredients since it works off the CB1 and CB2 receptor whereas THC works on the CB1 receptor.

“These receptors are primarily involved with coordination, movement, pain, emotional output, and the immune system,” explains Faye Rim, MDD, a physiatrist and pain management specialist at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City.

Similar to marijuana, using CBD is very versatile and easy. You can eat it through gummies or pills, smoke or vaporize it, drop it under your tongue with a tincture oil or spot treat it with lotions. The possibilities are endless to administer your dose. You can even grow cannabis strains that are predominantly high in CBD and almost no THC. Hemp contains a very small amount of THC (0.3 percent).

Benefits of CBD

Many people don’t like marijuana's recreational aspect of getting high so they will stay away from cannabis. Discovering the benefits that Cannabidiol can bring has been a game changer for many users. People with severe anxiety have said this substance helps them. Although the FDA has not approved CBD as a whole, they have approved Epidiolex which was the first prescription medicine containing CBD that was approved for epilepsy.

Here are a few diseases and other things that CBD has been noted to help with:

  • Epilepsy
  • Migraines
  • Anxiety
  • Acne
  • Psoriasis
  • Multiple Sclerosis
  • Diabetes
  • Maintain Brain Health

How It Can Help Arthritis

Arthritis is one of the conditions that CBD oil is said to be able to help with. There are multiple reasons as to why it helps. One of the main reasons to this is that it helps soothe inflammation. This takes a giant load off your joints. Here are some more reasons as to why it helps with arthritis.

  • THC level is low
  • CBD supports your immune system
  • Quick relief
  • Topical creams for spot treatment
  • Suppresses T-Cells

What are the best ways to consume it?

Not all ways to take CBD are equal. Some will take longer to kick in but last longer while others make take effect quicker but not last as long.

Smoking and Vaping

Smoking and vaping your CBD flower is going to be the most efficient way to get it in your system. Smoking has a very quick absorption rate in your body. Once inhaled, it starts going into your bloodstream and working its way around. That’s why you feel the effects smoking weed fairly quickly.

Some people like to vape it in their dry herb vape while others like to use joints. Some people have moved onto CBD concentrates which they use a dab rig with. Most people like this because it gives them an immediate relief.

Tincture Oils

Tincture oils for Cannabidiol is the most popular form of consuming it because it doesn’t have a negative stigma like smoking does. It’s also easy to travel with and take around. It is taken sublingually which means you need to drop the liquid oil under your tongue. Let it sit there for about 30-60 seconds. This will let it absorb underneath your tongue which is a quick access point to your bloodstream.

Lotions and Creams

Lotions, ointments, or creams are generally not the best if you want it to affect your whole body. However, it helps for specific points in the body since arthritis is only in specific parts of the body. Simply pour some into your fingers and rub it around the spot that is giving you problems.

Edibles

Edibles are becoming bigger in popularity due to the ease of use. It’s very simple to take with you and they are properly dosed out for you. CBD edibles can be pills, gummies, specific cooking oils and more. They take the longest to kick in and take affect in your body since they need to be metabolize in the liver. The good part is they last the longest out of all the different ways.

Conclusion

At the end of the day, it’s good to try different substances that can help with your pain. Living with arthritis is very hard and not all medications work equally. Some of them are also really expensive and not natural. CBD is a natural forming cannabinoid that helps your body go back to homeostasis. This can reduce inflammation which will open up your joints. Take CBD continuously to notice the effects.
