Which CBD Oil Suits Your Skin?

More and more cannabis-infused skin care products are hitting the market. With the proven safety and efficacy of CBD oil in soothing the skin, and even helping with sleep or anxiety, these essential oils are now becoming a beauty staple.

Most of the CBD oil that you can buy or prepare at home provide some antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. They can help reduce redness, pain, and even acne. However, the best indica strains for the skin can include the master kush strain for pain-relieving effects without affecting alertness, and the hash plant strain for fighting pain, and helping you sleep.

In most cases, the CBD oil that can best help your skin depends on how the CBD is refined, and how it is used in the product.

CBD tinctures and serum for wrinkles, darkness, and dryness

Tinctures and serum are liquid preparations of CBD essential oils. You can apply them as necessary to address dry skin issues, wrinkles, and uneven skin tones due to damage.

Because of the natural antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties of CBD essential oils, tinctures from any of the indica strains can relieve skin dryness, flaking, and cracking. You can use CBD skincare products to tighten the skin under the eyes, and smooth out spots of inflammation.

CBD full-spectrum topicals for acne and redness

Full spectrum CBD or hemp oil can help brighten and soothe skin, and at the same time, reduce redness caused by inflammation. Saint Jane Luxury Beauty Serum is an example of a full spectrum hemp oil that can brighten the skin, and bring about your natural glow.

The antioxidant properties of CBD prevent free radical damage from doing further harm to your skin. It can even reduce excessive sebum oil production, and offset the effect of acne triggers.

CBD concentrates for sunburn and pain relief

Chronic skin conditions like eczema, psoriasis, and recurrent inflammation come with a lot of pain. Because of their potency, taking CBD concentrates can help provide immediate relief from the pain.

Topical CBD essential oil skincare products can also reduce the pain caused by arthritis or joint problems. Lord Jones High CBD Formula Body Lotion is an example of a CBD-rich lotion that can provide pain relief.

The Benefits of Cannabis Essential Oil

More and more research is uncovering the health benefits of cannabis essential oil, from something as simple as the relief of dry skin to the possible treatment of cancer. For example, a man had reported that he cured his cancer using homemade cannabis oil.

CBD essential oil is now known to have clear anti-inflammatory effects. It can also aid in the relief of pain, nausea, and vomiting, anxiety, and insomnia.

The best indica strains, when processed and taken properly, have the following benefits:

  1. Anti-inflammatory effects (including skin redness, acne and eczema)
  2. Antioxidant properties
  3. Anti-tumor effects (slow down or prevent tumor growth)
  4. Anxiety and insomnia aid
  5. Relief of nausea and vomiting
  6. Relief of chronic pain
  7. Supportive treatment for heart disease, obesity, multiple sclerosis, osteoporosis, and other diseases

Make Your Own CBD Essential Oil at Home

To enjoy the benefits of CBD essential oil, you can actually start at home. There are several recipes for cannabis oil, such as those for cooking and those for medicinal purposes. This is a simple recipe for making your own CBD essential oil.

Because processing CBD essential oil requires boiling the alcohol solvent, you need to make the oil in a well-ventilated area. You can do this outdoors, or in an area with a fan or open windows.

Prepare the ingredients

For this recipe, you need one ounce of marijuana. You should use a strain that is high in THC. If you have a medical marijuana trim, you can use two to three ounces of that instead.

Aside from the marijuana, prepare one gallon of 99 percent pure ethyl alcohol/ethanol. As you can see by the high concentration of the solvent, you can't use every day rubbing alcohol or alcoholic drinks.

Prepare the tools

To mix the CBD and alcohol solvent together, you need a large stock pot or food safe container. You also need a wooden spoon for stirring the CBD.

Prepare a 73-micron bubble hash bag to strain the mixture, and collect the hash from your weed or trim. You will also need a double boiler. Don't use a boiler or pot with Teflon coating, as this tends to leech chemicals.

Finally, prepare glass containers to store the homemade essential oil.

Mix the CBD and alcohol solvent

To make the oil mixture, put the gallon of alcohol in the large pot, and then submerge the marijuana in the solvent. Put this mixture in the freezer overnight to extract the resin. The alcohol will not freeze, but the cold will help the extraction.

In the morning, stir the mix gently using the wooden spoon. Do not smash the marijuana flower.

After mixing, strain the mixture through the 73-micron weave bubble hash bag. Repeat the rinse with fresh alcohol before moving on to boiling.

Boil the mixture

Now that you have the cannabis essence with alcohol, transfer it to the double boiler. Make sure you're in a well-ventilated area.

Set the double boiler at a temperature range of 212ºF or 10ºC to 290ºF or 140ºC. Be careful to keep it at that range. Boil the alcohol off for 75 minutes. This temperature range and time will ensure that the THC will be activated and not ruined.

Store the homemade essential oil

Once the alcohol solvent has been boiled off, you'll find an oily substance at the bottom of the pan. Pour the essential oil into your prepared containers. Make sure to store them in a cool and dark place.

Now that you have your own homemade essential oil, you can enjoy the many benefits of cannabis.
