Finding the perfect stoner movies to stream right now is never easy. Depending on what you're looking for, there are tons of options to choose for. That's why we've come up with a list of the best of the best, for all preferences.

We have mind benders, documentaries about weed, and classic movies that might not have been intended for watching while under the influence, but surprisingly work best in this state of mind. Which will be your next go-to?

Donnie Darko is first on our list of the best stoner movies to stream for many reasons. The film follows Donnie Darko, a troubled teenager, as he receives a vision of a six-foot rabbit named Frank who tells him that the world will soon end, in 28 days to be exact. After narrowly escaping a freak accident in which his room is hit with an engine from a plane, Donnie begins to believe that his escape may have been caused by supernatural events. But due to his mental illness, he may never discover what is reality.

Released in 2010, Donnie Darko stars Jake Gyllenhaal and received critical acclaim for not only the story, but the tone and the acting portrayed. It even landed a spot on Empire's 50 Greatest Independent Films of All Time. With a cult following, this movie is the perfect way to start a cannabis-induced weekend movie binge.

Humor and mind-bending movies are always a great way to go when choosing the best stoner movies to stream, and Sausage Party is no exception to this rule. The premise is simple: food items on the shelves of the local supermarket are in fact alive, and they happily await being purchased to go home with a customer. However, Frank, voiced by Seth Rogen, discovers the truth behind their purchases, and works with the rest of the food items to come up with a plan to escape the evil humans.

However, Sausage Party is rated R because of its sexual manner, crude content, pervasive language, and drug use. So don't knock the animated film until you see it for what it is, which is hilarious. Plus, it was a box office success after its release in 2016, being critically acclaimed for its humor, design, voice acting, and direction. Grossing over $140 million, it squashed the record for the highest grossing R-rated animated movie of all time.

A classic parody movie that can be watched over and over again, Scary Movie is next on our list of the best stoner movies to watch for the hilarity and pot references.

Scary Movie parodies not only Scream, but The Sixth Sense, The Matrix, I Know What You Did Last Summer, and The Blair Witch Project. Making a mockery of the majority of teen movie clichés, the movie created its own genre of film, and follows a group of teenagers who accidentally run over a man while they are driving. Instead of turning themselves in, they dispose of the body, only to be stalked by the masked killer of their hometown. As the victim count grows, how will the teens survive? Released in 2000, the horror comedy combine slasher, mystery, horror, and parody genres.

Though it has nothing to do with weed specifically, Who Framed Roger Rabbitis always a classic to watch, no matter what state of mind you're in. And what better one to be than with a little extra plant in your system? As one of the best stoner movies to stream, anything that has to do with animals talking is a bit of a mind-bender.

Private eye, Eddie, is hired by R.K Marron, a cartoon producer. His job is to investigate an adultery scandal that involves Jessica Rabbit, who is Roger Rabbit's wife, Maroon's biggest star. However, Jessica's supposed lover is found dead. Judge Doom then sets out to catch Roger Rabbit after he is framed for the murder.

Based on the novel Who Censored Roger Rabbit? the film was produced in 1988 by Walt Disney Pictures. In 2016, Who Framed Roger Rabbit was preserved in the National Film Registry for being cultural, historically, and aesthetically significant.

Now for a documentary, Super High Me stars comic Doug Benson. The documentary follows Benson as he abstains from smoking marijuana for a month. Then, he smokes it continually for 30 days. Released in 2008, the film features the effects of smoking weed, and is a parody of the 2004 documentary, Super Size Me, a documentary about the effects of fast food in our bodies. The movie includes interviews with not only the comic, but with marijuana activities, politicians, patients, dispensary owners, and many more. How was his body affected by this?

Filled with both humor and logistics, the documentary is one worth putting on for the night, if you're interested in some comedy and experiments with weed.

Any film that stars both Wiz Khalifa and Snoop Dogg has to be one of the best stoner movies to stream. Mac & Devin Go to High School follows a smart teenager named Devin, played by Wiz Khalifa, and a stoner who struggles to finish high school named Mac, played by Snoop Dogg, as they befriend each other.

The movie basically is completed with smoking scenes every few minutes, but the basis to the movie follows the two as they help each other, getting Snoop Dogg to graduate, and introducing Wiz Khalifa to cannabis. Though not a groundbreaking movie, its a good one to put on in the background while you smoke yourself.

The Culture Highis another documentary all about marijuana. A more serious movie of the bunch, the film explores marijuana decriminalization. It features celebrities, physicians, law-enforcement officials, and many more interviews that discuss the legalization of marijuana.

Described as a "serious-minded stoner cinema" by Variety, the film opens up the conversation to many demographics. Plus, its produced by the same makers of The Union: The Business Behind Getting High, another great stoner movie to watch. It follows the birth of marijuana and how it has come to where it is today, as well as the morally induced campaign that was included in this path.

Kid Cannabis follows the story of a high school dropout at the age of 18 who joins his 27-year-old friend in starting a marijuana trafficking business across the border of Canada. The comedy-drama is based on a true story of an Idaho teen who worked as a pizza delivery boy. He ultimately builds a multimillion-dollar marijuana ring, believe it or not, by trafficking drugs.

As one of the best stoner movies to stream, this film is definitely captivating, and follows the story of a young man who changed his life and his friend's life forever. Inspired by a Rolling Stone article in 2005, the man who the film was based on was released early from jail, and currently lives in his hometown in Idaho, Coeur d'Alene.

Hot Fuzz is a movie that follows two police officers, Simon Pegg and Edgar Writer, who also directed and wrote the film, as they try to solve a murder in a small English town. As a Shaun of the Dead spoof, the duo is hilarious to watch, and the film features dramatically bad chase scenes as well as tons of satirized moments throughout the movie.

As a great movie to give you a laugh, much like Scary Movie, but spoofing the action-comedy genre, you'll love the irony of this film. And who doesn't love this duo?

To complete our list of the best stoner movies to stream, John Dies at the End is a dark fantasy science fiction horror film. The movie is based on the novel of the same name, written by David Wong. Starring Chase Williamson and Rob Wayes, the film has a cult following.

The plot follows the production of a new drug, which promises new out-of-body experiences. However, the people who have used it have been changed forever. It's called Soy Sauce, and users drift from dimension to dimension. Some even come back no longer human. Is an invasion of the world underway? An incredibly trippy movie that is perfect for smokers, this film will certainly have you considering the power of drugs.
