London, Ontario, Canada.

Photography for me has been my passion since 1988. I was a photojournalist with The Senteil Review newspaper in Woodstock, Ontario from 1989-1991. My speciality was sport photography concentrating on basketball and football. As a photojournalist I felt I needed a change so I became a freelance photographer which what I am today. As you can see in the above photograph of a scene of London, Ontario which was taken from by balcony on the 15 floor of my apartment in downtown London, Ontario. The rustic colors in the photograph are meaningful because they represent the end of the fall season in Southwestern Ontario Canada. The photograph was taken with a 200mm f/2.8 lens on my D-40 Nikon body. There are some key tips I like to give to you to have great photographs.

1. Make sure your target takes up the full view of the view finder in your camera. This will balance and make your photograph stand out like this won.

2. My sure the f/stop is correct. F/stop is the amount of light going through your lens onto the digital card of your DSLR Camera. By having the right f/stop your photography will have proper exposure and the correct amount of light going though the lens. As you can see in this photography the photography as good exposure because the f/stop was correct. Which in this case was f/11.

3. Proper focus makes or breaks your photograph. Make sure you adjust your lens to the proper setting on your DSLR Camera. In this photograph I use the picture setting on the focus. This setting helps with proper light and steadiness and less noise in the photograph. Something you should check out in the manual of your DSLR Camera.

4. Use a tripod for still photographs. And set it at the right height to fill the view finder correctly for best results. And make sure the tripod is balanced by setting the legs on the tripod correctly and the height you want.

5. And finally, have fun. That is why I do photography because it fun for me. I find it quite relaxing spending a afternoon or a day creating master pieces with my camera.

I hope this article was helpful for you and you are able to improve your photographs with these tips.
