If you are trying to get your Instagram game up or simply trying to have memories of a really special event in your life. You most likely want to get a real professional camera and start taking pictures like a professional photographer. Well, it is really not that simple, not only do you have to learn how to use a camera, but you have to know how to take those desired photos.

The good news is that if you are willing to learn, you can find the information you need online. In this post, you will find the best way to judge which location you should choose for your photoshoot.

Lighting

The first thing you should do is find a location that has great lighting. It does not matter if is during day time or at night, you can still get great lighting. If you are shooting at night, you can buy a led light on Amazon especial for shooting. Also, if you are shooting at night time a city with lots of lights might be your best bet. In the day time is a lot easier to find a great location, but it still brings challenges. You don’t want to sunlight to be in a weird angle where is going to mess with the camera lens or is going to be hitting you right in the face. Walls usually reflect a lot of light, but you are not limited to this. Experiment with you light and get creative. You really can’t ignore this part of your session since is what is going to separate you from the crowd.

Setting

You want to match your location with the occasion. If you are shooting for your graduation you definitely don’t want the location to be in the desert. This will not have anything to do with you graduating and people will end up confused years later when they look at your pictures. You know your reason behind this event so make sure it matches the occasion.

Privacy

Do you want your pictures with other people in them? Do you care if other people are looking at you when getting photographed? Is your idea of the pictures for you to be alone? There is a lot of questions you should be asking yourself when it comes to your privacy. Remember that the point of a photoshoot is to have memories in pictures. They are supposed to be beautiful and you might put them on a big frame and hang it in your house.

Cleanliness

Have you ever taken a picture which you liked a lot, then go home to realize that you can’t use that photo because there was garbage on the floor. Okay, maybe not, but this happened to me. Make sure the places you choose are clean from garbage, objects, or anything you think will prevent people from focusing on the subject. This was a very beginner mistake, but it happens even to the best of us.

Color and Texture

Color and texture can help your photos have a certain feel to them. Vibrant colors next to a palm tree will make it feel like you are in the Caribbean or earthy colors next to an old tree will have an organic feel. Pictures have the ability to communicate feelings

Photography is all about experimenting, so don’t take my word for it or listen to whatever is online. You can make your own pictures look great as long as you are creative enough. These tips are just based on my experience with taking photos. If you think you are not creative enough you can always hire a professional photographer. Or, you can learn by doing just like photographers in Beaumont Texas have by finding a passion for photography.
