The Sony PXW-Z90 offers 4K quality capture right from the start, but it doesn't stop there, capabilities worth mentioning are autofocus and exceptional connectivity. The autofocus function uses advanced technologies, managing to maintain focus on the subject even when other objects appear in the foreground. The operator can choose his focus point by touching the screen, as well as a rack focus by touching several points on the screen. Also, the user can choose whether the focus is on the majority of the frame (wide), in the center or with a flexible focus point. In addition, you can choose how fast the focus is done.
The autofocus function is fully configurable, in addition to the elements mentioned above, the operator can choose to lock the focus on a single subject and follow it or move when a new subject enters the frame. Moreover, it can choose whether to follow faces or objects.
As I said above, focusing and small dimensions are not the only advantages in the case of the Sony PXW-Z90. Connectivity plays an important role and takes the camcorder to a new level. First of all, the company has implemented a 2.5mm LANC connection with remote control. The camera has an SDI 3G output and an HDMI output, either of which can offer imecode and remote triggering, even if both outputs cannot be used at the same time.
The Z90 will work in a multi-camera configuration, both wired and wireless. With a Sony MCX-500 switcher, a RM30-BP controller and a few cameras, you can set up a studio for live broadcast productions, at a very low price and occupying very little space.
In addition, the Z90 benefits from built-in WiFi (5Ghz and 2.4Ghz) that allows wireless streaming to network servers, USTREAM and Sony XDCAM AIR.
The 1″ Exmor RS sensor offers a 14.2M QFHD 4K image (3840×2160) in XAVC format that allows filming in S-Log 2 or 3, as well as in the Hybrid Log Gamma style for HDR, typical of Sony. Regardless of whether you want a broadcast-ready live signal or Log filming for color correction in post-production, the Sony PXW-Z90 is capable of high-quality results.
The package contains: Sony PXW-Z90, XLR grip, lens hood, lens hood, viewfinder support, shoe kit, battery charger, NP-FV70A battery, USB cable, power cable, RMT-845 wireless control unit with batteries, AC AC adapter -L200D, manual for operations (CD-ROM).
