This year I'm celebrate Halloween at home with my cat

This year on Saturday, October 31st people are celebrating Halloween. Most common celebration ceremony is called Trick-or-treating where one goes around houses for treats or treating. As 2020 becomes a year of social distancing, Halloween would be unlike the norms of what we know. People would be careful of human interactions and receiving treats in both could spread the virus. As a result, I would be celebrating at my home with close ones in my house. In this case it would be my cat, Coco Pang Pang.

Coco Pang Pang is my female white Ragdoll who have been beside me for almost two years. She has been needy and affectionate with human interaction. Coco needs to be the centre of attention all day long. When I walk outside, Coco screams for me to come back in. As precious as she sounds, she loves to play around the house with toys, boxes, and challenges on TikTok. She has her own TikTok account where she challenges herself to trending TikTok challenges including siting in a tape box, jumping over layers of toilet rolls, dancing with TikTok famous music, and sitting on a scanner to print her naughty pictures.

As Coco enjoys trendy social media challenges, she is deciding on what to wear for Halloween for 2020. She has some options as pandemic warrior cat with sanitizers, Lysol, toilet paper and a mask. Or PJ costumes with a laptop to show how she is working from home. They are both great options Coco is waiting to try on but would need some decision making to select what to wear this year. I will share what she will wear on TikTok on Halloween 2020. In the meantime, let me know which one you prefer or if you have an idea what would be a great costume for Coco in 2020 Halloween.

Last year, Coco was in a banana toy to mimic an art piece called Comedian. In 2019, an Italian artist called Maurizio Cattelan put up an art piece called Comedian which is duct taped banana on a wall in Art Basel Miami Beach. It got a lot of attention as people saw this as art or not. But the price for this piece was sold for $120,000 USD which caught media attention all around the world. With huge attention world-wide, Coco decided to be the Comedian Cat for Halloween 2019. Coco was sitting in a banana soft toy in front of a white wall. She posed as if she was an artist looking as this masterpiece was worth $120,000 USD or even more. We had great time mimicking Comedian and enjoyed delicious cat treats as a Trick-or-treating celebration.

I see Halloween as a day to express yourself and have fun out of your norms for just one day. Just to try it out and enjoy with others. Halloween also has sentimental feelings as a child going around houses to get treats at night and dressing up. Thinking of fun memories flashes by looking at each years Halloween costumes which brings back stores to share for long-time friends, and new friends.

Each year of Halloween would be unique for someone. Personally, with the situations 2020 has brought up, this year would seem limited from parties, Trick-or-treating, gatherings, and events. But this year would also be a unique experience to remember and I think we should make the best of it to keep our memories of this year’s Halloween a great story to tell in the future.
