The relationship between pets and humans dates back to prehistoric times, Early humans likely formed connections with animals for practical reasons, such as assistance in hunting, protection, and companionship.

Domestication of animals started with dogs and marked a crucial phase in the relationship between humans and animals. Dogs, in particular, provided not only assistance in hunting and guarding but also companionship and warmth.

Over time, this relationship expanded to include various animals serving diverse roles, from livestock providing sustenance to cats helping control vermin. The bond between pets and humans grew beyond mere utility, developing into emotional and social connections.
