Daisy, a new pup of the house had a lot of energy to get out. Liz tried to take Daisy out for walks at least once a day every day to get her moving. Liz also let Daisy run in the backyard and Daisy loved when she was able to get a good run in.

Liz had just come back from work and was in her business attire. She was greeted by Daisy when she got home and did not want to get a lot of fur on her nice clothes, so she changed quickly into comfortable track shorts and a tank top. She put Daisy outside and let her loose for a while. Daisy was running around in the backyard. It was a nice sunny Monday. It was a hot summer day. Daisy’s favorite ball was her SpongeBob ball. It was the size of a soccer and beach ball. “Daisy going to get the ball? Get the ball!” Liz shouted while laughing as she kicked the ball for Daisy to chase. Daisy was so happy and chased and leaped for the ball stopping it then grabbing it and kicking it around with her paws, then she let Liz kick the ball for her to chase again.

Then Daisy looked toward the front of the house. Bev came out to the backyard. She had just come home from work and was dressed in business attire. Daisy ran over to Bev in excitement. Bev said to Liz, “There’s a dog park in Aurora. Maybe we can start taking Daisy there.” Liz replied with excitement, “That sounds like a great idea! She can get her energy out and play with other dogs!” Liz looked over at Daisy. “Hey Daisy, do you want to go to the dog park?” Daisy looked up and started to wag her tail in excitement. She started to bark and jump around. “I’ll grab her leash and get changed!” said Bev.

Daisy was so happy to be going back out again. Liz and Bev got Daisy ready and put her in the back seat of the car. She opened the windows a bit in the back and the front to let the nice summery breeze in. She then started the car and headed to the dog park. As she turned into the parks parking lot Daisy became excited because she could smell and hear the other dogs around. “Stay in the back Daisy.” Said Bev trying to prevent Daisy from jumping on to her lap in the passenger seat of the car. It was busy in the park that day. Liz parked and turned off the car and asked Daisy, “Daisy, where are we now? Are we at the dog park?” Daisy responded with a bark. She was as happy as can be. Liz and Bev got out of the car and took Daisy out of the back. She also brought out a bottle of water and bowl for Daisy to drink out of. Daisy was pulling and sniffing as they walked to the entrance of the park. Bev opened the first gate and let Daisy out. “There you go Daisy! Run around!” Liz opened the second gate for her after Bev closed the first one and Daisy ran out. Some other dogs came to greet her. Some dogs chased Daisy and she chased them around.

“What a beautiful dog you have there how old is he or she?” one of the dog owners asked Bev. Bev replied, “Thanks, she’s 7 months old now, still in training.” The other dog owner replied, “Well she seems very well behaved and looks like a Golden Retriever but also looks like she is not a purebred.” Bev replied, “You’re right she is a golden retriever, husky lab.” The other dog owner nodded his head and said, “That’s quite the interesting mix.” Bev replied, “Is yours a purebred Lab?” He replied, “Yes and he comes to work with me every day. I work in a criminal law office.” “Interesting, I can’t take my pup to work with me. I work in law as well. Wish I could bring her with me though. She would warm everyone’s heart.” Bev smiled. “I’m Ed by the way.” “I’m Bev, nice to meet you.” “Nice to meet you too Bev.”

While Bev and Ed were talking, Liz was way out at the end of the dog park taking a good walk with Daisy. Daisy loved the dog park. Liz took some pictures of Daisy running around, going through bushes, playing with other dogs. Daisy was having a great time. Liz looked at the time. They had been there an hour and a half. Bev was walking towards Liz and Daisy. Ed had left with his dog. “Hey Bev, should we leave now?” “Yeah maybe we should get going now.” Liz called Daisy “Daisy, time to go now, come on, get your leash.” Daisy ran over to Liz and then ran right past her! “I’ll try.” Said Bev. “Come on Daisy! Let’s go!” Daisy ran fast towards Bev and then right past her! Other people in the dog park tried to catch her as well but she was playing a game. Everyone was laughing. Liz finally caught her and put her on her leash. “Thank goodness! I thought we were going to be here all-night ha ha! Thanks everyone, see you next time!” Liz said as she, Bev and Daisy left the park.

As they were driving home, Liz said, “Daisy was pretty good in there eh?” Bev replied, “Yeah she played nicely with the dogs. It was just hard to catch her when we were leaving ha ha.” When they got home, Daisy went and drank some water and then laydown. She was tired from running around. Bev looked at Daisy and said, “She’s going to sleep well tonight.” Liz agreed. They continued to take Daisy to the dog park at least three times a week from then on.
