The Dog Lover
The Dog Lover Once upon a time, a sad girl was playing with rocks near the river. She then heard a dog, weeping. She looked around then found a drowning Black dog, crying for help. She rushed towards its direction then saved it. They both cried after. "Why are you sad? hmm?" The girl asked the black dog, but instead of answering, the dog licked her hand. "Maybe you were abandoned too, and they threw you to the river." She said then the black dog started to whimper. "Don't worry, I will take care of you! I promise!" She said to the black dog, as it wag it's tail. The black dog was very happy. It didn't felt being cared of since birth. It only knew abuse. The girl was also happy for she wanted to take care of those who beg for it. She fed the black dog everything that she could give. She also forced the dog to wash and take a bath every day. She was always with the black dog, every minute. She was afraid that the black dog might get lost in the forest if it went out so she chained the black dog inside her house. "Don't feel bad, this is for your own good, my beloved dogie." She whispered to the dog, but instead of wiggling it's tail, the dog sat down with a frown on it's face. Every day, the dog always peek on a hole under the window to see other dogs playing outside. They don't seem to eat food everyday, nor washed their bodies for a month. Of course! They are homeless. The black dog didn't know what to feel. However, it never forgets to be grateful, no matter how suffocating the situation. The girl arrived from the market. A rumor that a plague might spread to their city. She became more paranoid that she covered the whole house. Didn't let anyone to come in, nor come out. Remained the same lifestyle. Little did she know that the plague can only affect animals, and she was asymptomatic. The black dog immediately felt sick. It's body wasn't immune to any kind of microbes, bacteria and diseases. The girl feeds it more food, but the dog didn't have the appetite to eat. She forced it to eat, only to be puked. The next day, the black dog puked blood. It's lungs was immediately affected due to it's high risk to dirt and bacteria it inhales. The girl cries and cries, day after day as the black dog is dying slowly. She didn't know what to do. "I did everything, why wasn't it enough? I only want the best for you, my beloved, why does it feel like my fault?" She cried infront of the black dog who's lying on the ground catching it's breath. The only thing that it did is to stare at her with it's eyes that screams, "It's not your fault, please, stop crying!" "Did I loved you too much?" she asked, and those were the last words that the black dog heard from her. She wailed kissing the black dog's forehead. She carried it to the backyard then dig it's pit next to several rows of grave. She sat infront of a hundred tombstones. Wondering why she never had a pet for longer time. "What did I do so wrong?" She asked herself crying her lungs out.
