While on business trips or travelling abroad, parents’ biggest worries are always the safety and well-being of their children. For pet owners, we worry about the exact same things for our babies. Are they eating properly? Do they have their favourite toy? Are they getting along with other dogs or kitties?

Sometimes, when we are lucky, a parent or a kind friend would be more than happy to take care of them. But in more cases than not, especially when we are away for a long-time, we have to find a residence with professional care to foster the little treasures — Pet Hotels

Now, most of us who have had a little experience or done a little research would be quite familiar with commercial pet boardings. They are standard services, with adequate professionals on-site, and can allow the pets to hang out together and play around. Similar to a daycare center for the kids, it is nothing too luxurious, but still an affordable and good enough option to keep an eye on them while you are off to work.

However, in commercial boardings, your pets are likely going to face the same problems that your kids may face in daycare. While it is true that with commercial boarding, your pets may be able to meet more new friends and keep him(or her) happy and busy, but with a great population, also comes greater risks.

Greater possibility to meet friends also equates to more possibility of meeting bullies. Especially at commercial boarding hotels, although the pets are grouped by their species, they are rarely categorized in any other way. All breeds of all personalities and all sizes are put together, which makes playtime much more dangerous, especially for the smaller, more timid animals.

Despite thorough health checks, the large population within a single commercial boarding would still increase your pets’ chances of exposure to diseases. In addition, the often lack of staff also leads to inadequate individual care.

In comparison, home boarding services such as the one offered at Ameni Coco although have a slightly higher price than commercial hotels, do offer much more benefits such as the followings:

– Limited pet count, usually with home-boarding the number of pets per sitter are limited to 2–3 per person

– Centered attention from one single pet sitter, attentive to every little details and change that happens to your baby

– Safer and more comfortable environment. A more home-like environment allows your pet to adapt more quickly to the temporary home.

– Custom care tailored to your pet’s habits and preferences, from special medicines or his waking and feeding schedules.
