Dropping In With Cats

On an almost daily basis I walk, partly to keep my body functioning and partly to meet and photograph cats for Cats of Vocal and #CatsofVocal and #CatsInNam on Instagram.

Almost every day I meet so many cats. Some run away and some want to play and not let me go.

I have been taking pictures of cats for years and sharing them on Instagram using the #CatsInNam Hashtag.

The thing is generally cats will actually sit and have their picture taken and are independent, whereas dogs are usually on leads with their owners and it is usually more difficult to take a picture if a pet is physically connected to its owner, although I once took a picture of a cat on a lead with its lovely owner. You seldom see cats on a lead, definitely in my area where cats definitely own the neighbourhoods.

Although I don’t have a cat (my selfish laziness to blame for that) I do benefit from meeting them each day (apart from times of inclement weather), and I believe that anyone would benefit from having a cat in their life (as long as they are not allergic to felines).

Cats have provided me with a lot of reasons to write and I will include some of my stories, articles and poems at the end of this article if you would like to delve more deeply into my feline adventures.

Do Cats Love Me More?

I am not sure about this, because I am never sure of anyone or anything feelings for me be it human or animal although I seem to get on with dogs, horses bite me, and I do have a collection of scratches from close encounters of the feline kind, but recently cats have wanted stroking and cuddling and to steal my shopping.

Maybe their affection is just that they believe I have something that they might want, without knowing what that something might be.

I think we all want to be loved and cats do provide some of that type of emotional support, although cats demand that you love them and may dispense a little of that back in your direction if they choose to do so, but they hold all the cards and are in complete control of the situation.

And Where Do I Go From Here?

Well, I really don’t go anywhere. Taking pictures of cats and kittens keeps me in a good state of health both physically and mentally, and I would recommend this to absolutely anybody and everybody.

I sometimes feel down for various reasons but walking out and hoping to see one of my feline friends gives me a reason to walk out. When I actually see a cat and it doesn't run away and I get a picture my spirits are raised.

Then sometimes they want to come and play with me, showing trust and that makes me feel even better. Cats can really lift your spirits. Having said that as often as not they will treat me like some dark catnapper and run away. I do find that sad, but the cats didn’t know me.

The Odd Benefits Of My Feline Excursion

I got a message on Instagram about a cat that had escaped from the Westgate Ark Cat Rescue because I shared I “Missing Cat” poster. They told me the cat had returned so they were removing the posters. I told them I was happy and said I would remove any posters I saw, I saw three.

In Conclusion

Taking pictures of Cats for Cats Of Vocal on Facebook and #CatsofVocal on Instagram and Twitter is good for me and I would love people to join in, especially with the #CatsofVocal hashtag.
