Being a cat owner and taking care of them for a very long, you have come to the right place to know if you should get a cat or not.

1. What are the things to keep in mind before getting a cat?

There are different personalities of people which give them the title, “Types of people”, is also a concern whether you fall into the category to adopt a cat or not.

Personally, for me, I never had to judge myself to see if I have the characteristics enough to take care of a cat because I could see my love for cats in myself. Therefore, if you are a person who sees a cat with someone and wants to pet it or hug it or at least gain some knowledge about cats. This itself is a sign that you can become a really good cat owner, you definitely don’t need to think more about your characteristics but just be aware of the cat’s behavior. It is not just what you think, there comes so much more that we will learn later in the same article.

2. What traits do you need in yourself for owning a cat?

Before just saying, “I want a cat”, learn patience. Patience is the most important thing to have before getting a cat. I like to call cats, “sass queens”.

You will find it very difficult if your cat, especially your first cat does something wrong which means something that does not suit you well, something that makes you mad and you have no patience. For example, they might poop or pee out of their litter box someday if they are frightened of something.

You need to develop the traits in your character just like a mother then only it is easy to take care of a cat. Yes! You heard it right, just like a mother. You are not changing their diapers but you are going to clean their litter box very often to make sure your room doesn’t smell like poop.

I came across people who often question, “How much responsibility is a cat?”. The perfect answer to this question is that getting a cat is easy but it is a bit of a responsibility. You are responsible for their empty food bowl, their hair flying around in your house, and much more.

3. Best things about cats, you need to know before owning a cat:

Since there are many types of cats just like types of humans but there are quite a few common traits in cats. It is their loving personality. You are a perfect match for a cat and you should get a cat if you have a loving personality too.

Do you love petting a cat? Cats love you petting them too. It makes you happy to give time to play with a cat which is needed by a playful cat. Your cat will be lucky to have you as an owner if you have these major-specific traits in yourself to cope with cats.

Scientifically, it is proven that a cat helps relieves stress and makes you happy. You feel loved and there is someone with you to give love, bathe them, feed them, and play with them. They might not smile or laugh as humans do but they bring a smile to your face and joy to your life.

4. Cat care for beginners:

Before getting a cat, you need to make some purchases for your cat to make sure they are at their comfort at your house. You should consider buying them their bed, a blanket, a feed bowl, and maybe an extra bowl as well to put in some tuna, once or twice a week as they love tuna. You need to get a litter box along with a scoop and good quality cat feed, a hair brush, a nail cutter, and a nail filer. Your house shouldn’t be just a house to them but a home. If you buy them their essentials, take care of their hygiene since they are the most hygienic type of pet, they will never like to leave you or run from your house.

Make sure you know about the age of your cat to provide them with care accordingly. If you have a cat or you are getting a cat who is over 6 months old or one year old, they might want a mate in their mating season since they are known as a seasonal breeder.

Cats are as lovely as human babies, make sure to care for them as gently as you can. You should also be aware of their vaccine, whether they have got their first vaccine or not, and when last they had a vet checkup.

To sum up, if you love babies and planning on a cat then you should get a cat.
