It can be very tempting to hire an amateur wedding filmmaker or someone who is passionate about the image you have in your network. It’s not silly. Indeed, the only difference between a professional and an amateur is that one is paid not the other. It has nothing to do with technical skills.

By choosing a wedding filmmaker, however, you make sure you hire someone who has the technical skills and experience. If you want to have beautiful wedding films, we advise you to look for a filmmaker who only does wedding film. Avoid the ones that are multidisciplinary, you don't know if they have about 20 weddings a year or just one every now and then.

The qualities of a professional only specialized in marriage

A professional wedding filmmaker masters the wedding. He knows how to ask you the right questions and assist you in organizing your wedding.

A professional wedding filmmaker, in addition to mastering the technique of photography and retouching images, knows how to anticipate events and does not allow himself to be surprised. He knows the key moments of the wedding and knows how to adapt his material according to them.

A good wedding filmmaker knows how to be discreet but also knows how to guide you when necessary. Thus, you will feel both confident and serene.

But that's not all. A self-respecting wedding filmmaker is above all an artist. He sees reporting your wedding as a work of art, not just food. He takes the time to select the images, he retouches them over and over again to get the result he wants and then takes a long time to arrange the photos so that they tell your wedding story and look good. harmonize with each other.

A good wedding filmmaker does not appreciate having his images developed on poor quality paper and takes great care in selecting the lab with which he works.

Why choose a wedding videographer?

It can be tempting, when you're on a tight budget, to settle for just a photographer and skip the video. For us this is a mistake. If you only need to choose one, then we recommend that you only take a videographer.

We are aware that what we are going to say may not appeal to all professional photographers, but too bad! You might as well be as honest as possible.

Wedding photos you will have. Especially if you tell your guests not to deprive themselves of taking pictures of you. They will not all be successful but you will have your album. Smartphones are more and more proficient in photography and often perform great feats, even in the hands of amateur people.

This is not the case on video.

Generally speaking, people don't know how to film. You only have to see them hold their smartphones vertically to realize this. Your television, or a movie screen, is not vertical. Plus, smartphone camera stabilizers don't hold up. Add to that no remote microphone and you are sure to have to deal with poor quality images.

But that's not all. To make a good film, you have to master the editing. And while there are more and more editing software that are relatively easy to use, they are not quite as high as an editing software like premiere pro, for example. As these software are overpriced, amateurs do not use it.

Relive the emotions

Photography is a frozen memory that calls on our memories to relive the emotions. This is not the case with a wedding film. You will find the gestures, the voices, the reactions and their reasons. It is much rarer to cry over wedding photos than watching a movie.

Allow those absent to experience your marriage

There are always people we care about who cannot come to our wedding. The video will allow you to organize a little evening with them to remedy this. You will see how the video will make them react!

For your children !

If you take care to copy your wedding film every 10 years onto a new medium, you can be sure that your children too can experience this important day for them as if they were there.

Whether you prefer photography or video, know that this is the only real memory you will have in ten years. So while it's tempting to skip over the budget this entails, we strongly advise against it. It is far better to sacrifice one floor of the mounted room, the double entrance of the caterer, the rhinestones of the wedding dress or the too many animations ... than the memory you will have left.
