I am lucky that my grandmother always blessed me in my native place means in Sambalpur City in western part of Odisha.

The Sambalpur city is an eye-catching one for its rich cultural heritage, handloom textile (generally the sambalpuri saree),

The most famous Hirakud dam (which is the longest earthen Dam in the world)

Apart from Sambalpur city being historically important in the universe for its traditional and cultural folk dance, music forms like

sambalpuri dance, rasarkeli, dalkhai, rangabati and many more.

This famous city is also eye-catching for its different temples.

A beautiful travelling spot for the viewer as Goddess Mother Samleswari temple,

lord Shiva Huma-dhuma bent temple, which generally comes with pilgrimage and worship sites.

The main focus of the city festival would be too many.-

But if we count two among them with more focus and fame -

As one would be sital sasthi yatra another would be nuakhai bhet or nabarnna(paddy festival)

Sital Sasthi is a famous annually celebrated festival dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati's marriage with grand procession of the divine couple, in beautifully decorated chariots.

The holy festival of both goddesses was started more than four hundred years ago in Sambalpur after the king of Sambalpur brought Utkal Srotriya Vaidika Brahmins from Brahmin sasana villages of Puri district.

The localities of Nandapada are the oldest of these Brahmins.

They had first started Sitalsasti Utsav.

As for the Hindu calendar, the festival Sital Sasthi is always celebrated in the month of Jyestha, which is generally corresponding to May or June in the Gregorian calendar.

The festival is celebrated on the sixth day of the Shukla Paksha, which is known toward the period of the waxing phase of the moon.

In this event of this holy festive season, I remember it comes with many phases as likes.

Patra Pendi- This is known as the first day of the festival, and started. with a great occasion like a general celebration as a family of the region would choose to play the role of mother Goddess Parvati's father and mother, and they present her hands to Shiva for marriage.

Hanuman or Nurshingh Nimantrana-here those goddesses invited all other goddesses by invitation to celebrate the marriage ceremony of lord Shiva and Mother Parvati

Sital Sasthi marraigePuja- This is one of the crucial events of the festival, and it is a time for people to worship Shiva and Parvati. Marriage

The puja is usually held in the morning, and it is a time for people to pray for blessings from the deities.

Chariot festival or Sasthi yatra- This is a procession of Lord Shiva and parvatti chariots through the streets of Sambalpur.

The procession is accompanied by music and dance, and it is a time for people to celebrate their culture and traditions as many worship people like,

My respected late grandmother thought that when the chariot would come in the road there must be a signal of rain and the world must be cool known as Sital

Final movement or last of sital sasthi - It is a significant moment for the attendees to say goodbye to the divine couple and conclude the festivities.

The deities are immersed in the Mahanadi river, and it is an occasion of people to reflect on the meaning of the festival's sital sasthi.

Sital Sasthi is a beautiful and rejoice with perfect enjoyment time for a gathering of people in their paradise homes. ,

However, many sages mostly visit to get goddess blessings at this movement in Sambalpur

Also to worship the Lord Shiva and Mother goddess Parvati.

Every year when my grandmother is alive we must visit to that place, and also we got a blessing from her.

Apart from this she also provided many gifts to us that times to enjoy and spend money for fun with different products on the road to purchase in this session.

Now a day my grandmother is not on earth she died many years ago, but we always missed her.

Also, we would not visit this place because of work pressure.

It's an occasion where individuals can congregate and bond with one another..

It is an occasion for rejoicing, feasting, and fostering communal harmony.

The festival holds immense significance in the lives of the people of Sambalpur and is eagerly awaited every year.

You will find many states like Bihar, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal also celebrate this famous festival in there area and get benefit of the blessing of the God
