Most people's memory leaves something to be desired, we all know that. None of us came into this world with innate talent or the ability to use memory efficiently and properly.

As you get older, you will understand how badly you have used your brain over time.

In childhood and adolescence, our parents and school teachers said that you can't memorize anything unless you want to keep repeating it until you get bored of it or it becomes unbearable.

Well, the reality is completely different and this is not an effective way to learn at all. The constant repetition of a statement of fact does not help the brain to process that information. He can hold her back, but he doesn't understand her.

Here is a very good example to support this theory: Think of one of your most wonderful memories. It could be your first kiss, the day you first saw the sea or any other event that made you shiver. Try to remember what you felt at that moment, come back to him. Do you feel those shivers that you felt even then?

Do you feel nostalgic? Now put this happy event aside and think of something else. Do you remember the first day you met math? Probably not! You're probably wondering why.

Well, your memory is not just a collection of beautifully organized documents like files on your computer. It is not a mental list that you can open simply to visualize something in it.

Your brain is made up of a network of information that is closely related to the emotions, feelings, and experiences you have gathered throughout your life. Yes, you can use this information to your advantage! Find out below how.

Mnemonics

Mnemonics is an association technique designed to form memories and help you memorize.

Here's an exercise to help you better understand this: You want to remember the names of the planets in the solar system, starting with

The sun and ending with Neptune (Pluto is a dwarf planet that is not officially among the planets of the solar system). How are you going to do that? Repeating them constantly until you get bored of them? Not! Of course not!

First of all, imagine for a second that you are standing in front of the house facing the front door. You look at the sky and see the sun. It is a hot summer day, the air is humid, there is no cloud in the sky to protect you from the scorching sun.

Now look at the door and imagine that a huge door-sized thermometer hangs on it. Suddenly, the temperature becomes so high that the thermometer explodes, shards of glass fly around you, and large drops of mercury fall right on you. Do you feel how it burns?

Not a very nice feeling, really, but see the good side of things! You just remembered the name of the first planet in the solar system - Mercury!

Now imagine that you are desperately running around the house to the nearest sink to wash the mercury. When you open the door, you see a beautiful woman there who is wearing too much make-up. She is the goddess Venus, as well as the name of the second planet in the solar system.

Suddenly, you become very embarrassed to sit in front of her house like this and go in search of another place to wash the mercury from you. Well, before you make another move, a very large ball appears in front of you, blocking your way.

This ball is the Earth itself, the next planet after Venus. You decide to push this giant ball to see what happens next.

The earth rises in speed and destroys everything in its paths, such as your home and even your neighbor's. You are immediately greeted by your fierce neighbor, who turns into the god of war on Mars. Then, in the distance, you notice a giant of 3 meters running towards you.

It is the gaseous Jupiter - the largest planet in the solar system after Mars. He comes to your aid and calms the god of war.

When this giant arrives in front of you, notice the word "SUN" on its T-shirt, where each letter corresponds to the names of the three remaining planets: "S" is Saturn, "U" is Uranus, and "N" is Neptune. And you just successfully memorized the names of the planets and their order!

How does this process work? Well, it seems like all you have to do to memorize something is play and build a funny story in your head. You just combined certain ideas and were able to memorize these names through associations.

What do you think about Mnemonics? Have you used this technique so far?
