Ways to increase SELF BELIEF when selling wax melts!

Boost your self esteem and your profit all in one!

The wax market is a saturated one.

This can make it really hard to stay true to yourself and follow your passion when there are so many other vendors to compare yourself to. You must remember that being you really is your superpower, no one has your mind and your ideas so use it to your advantage!

Sadly there can be a lot of nit picking and criticism from other vendors that helps to decrease the value you place upon yourself and your craft.

One suggestion I can make here is don’t get sucked into gossiping or chatting with lots of different wax vendors. It can of course be so helpful to connect with a few trusted makers. I definitely know a few gorgeous people who I value as friends and good people. There are many out there!

But you must remember this is your competition.

It doesn’t help your self esteem in the slightest if you are following hundreds of other people doing the same thing, you start to de-value the work you put in because someone else will always look better or sell more (at least that’s what it looks like to you).

I know it’s so hard, but see your mistakes as an opportunity for growth rather than to prove to yourself you’re useless.

If you were useless you wouldn’t have realised it was a mistake in the first place! You can only improve your craft if you recognise the areas that need work. So pat yourself on the back next time and keep pushing on!

Don’t feel like you can’t stop till you drop. It is so important to look after yourself otherwise you will burn out, the world will look grey and empty and your productivity will go downhill. This leads to a vicious cycle of negative thinking and believing you’re just bad at what you do. It’s likely you’re not bad at all but just need some rest!

If you’re having one of those days where everything seems to be going wrong, you might just need a day off. I promise you once you press pause and reset, your plans will start coming together!

If you set up your small business and decide you’re going to sell 100 products in the first week, it’s probably not going to happen.

Setting realistic goals will help you to feel like you’re being productive and reaching your target. In your first week of business it’s going to be incredible if you get 1-5 sales.

Sometimes it can take a whole month to make 1 sale! I’ve heard many vendors report it took a whole year to start getting regular sales.

It’s good to have long term goals, but make sure you’re setting small achievable goals to get you there! So many successful businesses mention one key factor to success and that’s perseverance.

Recognise the positives and pat yourself on the back! Or have a gin 🤣😏…

The fact you’re even reading this means you are constantly working hard to improve your business! That’s amazing and I applaud you!

Think about how far you’ve come already and I’m not talking about number of products sold, I’m talking about the sheer amount you have learnt since starting. You didn’t learn it at school you got out there and found the information, you have a valuable skill and the more you learn the more you will improve!

Finally what I will say is, have a think about why you’re lacking that self belief? If another human is doing it you CAN! It actually makes me feel sad because so many people asked for this post and I wish I could just hug you all and tell you you’re amazing!
