All of these inputs make it hard to focus on one thing and may effect your ability to learn and remember. Studies suggest that spending too much time with digital devices can (also) be detrimental to personal relationships (being ignored and person does not have your full attention) and even dangerous. 1. Know the difference between internal and external distractions. Internal distractions can be job stress, negative interaction on facebook, or craving (being hungry) food. External distractions can be weather notifications alerts from your phone, going on vacation, just meeting up with friends.
2. Mindfulness is about about being in the present moment and without emotional reactivity. An example of using mindfulness is to mindful breathing or mindful walking (paying attention to how you are walking and the sensation of your feet on the ground), or how it feels when the wind caresses your skin.
3. Starting small such as set a realistic goal, and planning and making time for your goals. Example: Exercises set how long you plan to work out, and what exercises moves your plan on doing. Planning on changing your eating habits; you just don't go and start eating non dairy food, or stop eating meat; you take away a little at a time, to successful changing your eating habits.

It is common for people to research everything online before making a decision. Weather its looking for a tan salon or looking for a college that best fit your career choice. Inevitability, you have convinced yourself to read more articles or watch more videos because of the FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) Factor. This fear is often associated with steady stream of anxiety and stress.
