There was a lot of talk in the news regarding some time back regarding the president's statement about possibly ingesting disinfectant to fight coronavirus. He later said he was joking, but there were Americans who were asking if his suggestion might be beneficial. No chemical cleaning products should ever be eaten, nor should we drink them. They have warning labels on them for a very good reason, they could cause serious illness and or death. There is, however, a household product that benefits your body as well as your home. You can use it to clean and disenfect and most people may also be able to drink it without problems.

There are natural ingredients that you can use to keep your house clean and fresh smelling. They will not cure COVID-19 but may also benefit you health wise. All you need is a few items that can be found in your own kitchen. By combining four simple products you can disinfect and clean your living space and also help your body. Not everything works for every person and this information is only for reading purposes. It is not intended to diagnose, treat or cure any illness. Having said that, some may find this information beneficial, but others may not. All you need to do is combine lemon juice, baking soda, white vinegar and distilled water and possibly work wonders. Here is how it works.

To use it to clean and disenfect you will need 1/2 lemon or 1/4 cup of real lemon juice, 1/4 cup white vinegar , 2 Tablespoons baking soda and 4 cups of hot water. Combine the baking soda and vinegar in a small container with the hot water. Add the lemon juice or squeeze juice from the half lemon. Mix it well so the baking soda dissolves and allow to cool. Put the mixture in a spray bottle and now you have a natural cleaner that also disinfects. You can add a few drops of laundry detergent to enhance the scent. This is easy to do, inexpensive and has no chemicals. This mixture cleans surfaces and can also be sprayed in the air or on furniture to freshen a room. You can also add this combination to your laundry to ensure it is clean and fresh smelling.

Lemon juice and vinegar

You will save money and prevent possible allergic reaction to chemical products. These same 4 ingredients, minus the laundry detergent can also possibly aid your body. Baking soda, is also known as sodium bicarbonate and is a base. This means that when it is dissolved in water, an alkaline solution is formed. Lemon juice contains citric acid and has a pH of about 3. When these two are combined the ph level increase and produces a solution that is more neutral. In an 8 ounce glass of purified water, add a few pinches of baking soda, 1 tablespoon lemon juice and 1 tablespoon white vinegar. The combination neutralizes the taste so that it is not so bitter. it is not recommend to use more of these ingredients and those with hypertension should check with their health care providers first. The sodium in the baking soda can raise blood pressure readings. There are also those who drink apple cider vinegar mixed with lemon juice. I often mix both types of vinegar in my water with lemon juice. I have found that one teaspoon of each benefits me.

Sip on this mixture until it is gone and it may just help relieve indigestion. I do this once a day but I know people who say they drink this combination in the morning and at night. Please check any medications you are taking because there could be a reaction. Again keep in mind that home remedies do not work for everyone. You can also take a half cup of baking soda and mix it with one tablespoon of lemon juice and one tablespoon of white vinegar. Add just enough water to make a paste and scrub your face with the mixture, then rinse. This is a great cleanser and exfoliate. You can also splash a little lemon juice on your face after your bath or shower to firm and tone your skin, and reduce wrinkles.

White vinegar and lemons

Both lemon juice and white vinegar can be used to rinse hair after shampooing. Some people say drinking this mixture decreases their appetite and aids in weight loss. White vinegar, lemon juice and baking soda can also be added to warm water to soak your feet. Again be sure to check with your health care professional and make sure there will not be interactions with any medications you are taking. I find it absolutely fascinating that the same household products that can clean and disinfect, may also bring health benefits and improve the texture of hair.
