Tips for online shopping:

Tried to reduce your online shopping risks :

Take precautions whenever you shop online, not just during the holidays. There is so much identity theft, fraud and scams that are online for shoppers, you need to take precaution.

Put protection on your computer by installing the most recent updates for spam filters, antivirus, antispyware and firewall security.

• Read the retailer’s online privacy policy I know this can be tedious but it worth it and understand what personal information’s are being requested, and how it will be used. If there is no privacy policy posted on the website, it may be a red flag that your personal information may be sold or used without your permission.

Look for trustworthy sites. Do your research on that website for the seller’s reputation and record for customers satisfaction.

• Check out the reviews and rating about this website. Sometimes that can be very helpful to online shoppers.

• Better Bureau Business is very helpful and helping find tips on how to keep your information safe.

Will shopping there is some much you have to take in consideration. Being safe, personal identification, etc.

My biggest thing while I am shopping is paying attention to your surroundings. Being alert when you are out shopping is very important. For instance, most people like to take a break from shopping. They may stop at the coffee shop to enjoy a cup of coffee or have a bite to eat. However, you should continue to be aware of your surroundings. Think twice before you use an open Wi-Fi network to check your email or use the internet on your phone. Someone might just be waiting for the opportunity to take advantage.

Here are some tips on taking precaution on securing your financial information:

Carry only the cards you know you’ll use.

• Check out getting a RFID wallet to protect card with RFID chips.

• Consider ID theft protection

• Keep records of all your credit cards that is locked away in a safe place in case your wallet is stolen.

Most shoppers are using credit card or debit card now days, few shoppers pay in cash these days and checks are becoming very rare. Shoppers are likely to shop with plastic. Just remember as a consumer you need to know your consumer rights and many consumers rights are protected better when they used credit card instead of a debit card.

Another, valuable plastic that is being used or more requested by consumers is gift cards and certificates are at the top of most people to have on their list now days. Remember if you are buying gift cards for yourself or others, keep in mind they have an expiration or fees.

I hope these shopping tips are helpful and tried not to overspend during and after holiday sales. I know that it can be very challenge, especially when you see everything mark down half price. Just remember ask yourself do I really need this item before you make a purchase.
