Everyone enjoys a good party, right? Both attending and throwing a great party can be incredibly fun.

The only thing is, there are pitfalls in every corner, and we often don't know how to handle some of the rougher parts of partying. Party-throwing can be expensive. Fights can happen, and stuff might get broken. If you're really unlucky, no one might show up.

Ever wonder how hardcore party animals avoid the problems that can arise from parties? There are many party lifehacks that can be used to become the best partier, or the best party-thrower, in your clique.

Here are my favorite picks for both party planners and party attendees, as a party fiend.

Here's how to throw a party that people will actually want to attend, if you are new to a social circle.

If you're just trying to make friends, parties are a good way to get to know them better. Many of the parties I threw, at first, didn't have many attendees. After one too many times with no-shows, I realized I had to switch my tactics.

The decision to switch the way I'd throw parties with new groups led to one of the best party lifehacks I ever discovered...

Rather than actually throw a big bash at home or invest in a hotel room for a blowout, I'd invite them to other peoples' parties or night clubs instead.

By doing this, you are showing them that you have a life outside them, and that's attractive. After all, people want to be where the action is. If you can show them that you know where the action is near you, then more people will appreciate your invites.

Moreover, this is often the cheapest way to get to know people and show them that you're fun to party with.

If they don't come, it's no skin off your back; you are still partying with other people and you didn't have to pay for food that would have gone uneaten. If they do come, they end up being impressed by your group of friends, and you can make sure they have a good time without the stress of worrying if something will break or a fight may ensue.

This also tends to have a great after-effect. If they don't come and they overhear others talking about how much fun you guys had the night before, they will be way more likely to come by next time you invite them somewhere.

Few party lifehacks will get so many people amped for your parties like this one. Take this advice, and treasure it.

The lines on solo cups are actually drink measurement marks.

Solo cups are the perfect cups for people who want to be bartenders. Each line corresponds to the amount you'd use in a shot, a classic wine pour, and a classic beer pour.

So, if you have a solo cup, you can actually do simple cocktail recipes using the line marks.

The smallest line is 1 ounce, though, so if you want to make cocktails with 1/2 ounces of liquor, you will probably have to mix the amount necessary for multiple shots.

If you want more party invitations, always bring something to the party.

Here's one of many party lifehacks I know for people who tend to find themselves on the outside of invite lists.

The easiest way to make sure people want to invite you to the next party they throw is to provide something awesome to their current party. The best things to bring include drinks, food and, if necessary, party assistance, like being the house DJ. Even offering to clean up is a great way to make sure you'll get an invite again.

Throwing a party can be serious hard work, especially if it turns into a major banger. Party-throwers who have dealt with the insanity of a blowout party will notice those who help them to keep things under control.

Part of throwing a good party is inviting good guests, by the way.

I'll be brutally honest for a moment: I have friends who I adore, but would never invite to a party.

The reason that I would never invite them to a party is because they have no idea how to behave around other people. They either demand attention in negative ways, cause drama, get blackout wasted and puke everywhere, or worse, get violent.

This is one of those party lifehacks everyone should know, primarily because it's common sense. Despite it being common sense, people don't realize how important this is.

You can have the biggest pool, the coolest mansion, and the most elegant banquet hall out there, but if you end up getting known for throwing parties that attract drama and bad energy, no one will show up.

If you're first starting to build your party group, ask for certain people to help set up the shindig with you.

This is one of those party lifehacks I wish I knew in high school. If you want to get a party started and want to make sure that you have a cool group showing up, ask some people to help set up for the party.

If people find that others are coming to set up, they're more likely to come by. At the very least, you won't have to worry about being all alone at your party.

Should they be the only ones who show up, focus on making this the best time they can have with you. That way, when they talk to others, they will tell them what a good time they had, and they'll get others to come by later.

Make glow in the dark balloons.

Want to add a little glow to your next party? Glow in the dark balloons are great for house parties, pool parties, and just looking awesome. It's one of the best party lifehacks, and is actually remarkably simple and cheap.

Grab a bunch of glow sticks — ideally, the ones found in glow necklaces, or something similarly thin. Then, drop each glow stick into a balloon, and put air or helium into the balloon. Tie them off, and you've got glowing balloons.

Each glow balloon lasts around five to eight hours on average, which makes them perfect for parties.

Use frozen fruit as ice cubes for drinks.

Ice dilutes alcohol, which in turn can make drinks taste terrible after a while in the hot summer sun. A quick fix? Grab a pound or so of grapes, and stick them in the freezer.

If you guys are all drinking wine or other temperature-sensitive cocktails, the easiest way to keep them cold and undiluted is to use the frozen grapes as ice cubes, one of the best party lifehacks.

If you're throwing a party indoors, use binder clips to stack beers inside your fridge.

You can fit a lot more beer into your fridge if they're in pyramid formation than if they are just standing. Sadly, party lifehacks involving refrigerator layouts don't always work.

If you have a glass bottom fridge rather than a grated bottom fridge, you will find that this won't work.

Use one room in your house as a "safe room" during major parties.

Your "safe room" should be a place where you store your most important personal belongings. After all, parties can get crazy, and even the most well-meaning guests can get clumsy.

This room should be lockable, and also should be only accessible via key. This is one of the most useful party lifehacks and will ensure guests do not end up walking away with your personal items.

Make glow in the dark drinks for your blacklight party.

Want to throw a killer blacklight party? You can make everything glow - even your drinks. Any drink that has tonic water in it will glow in the dark.

Sounds cool already, doesn't it? But wait, there's more to this party hack than just drinks. If you think about it, this is one of those party lifehacks that can really go the extra mile if you want it to.

If you can position a blacklight in a pool, or get a number of waterproof UV lights for your pool, adding some tonic water, one of the greatest party lifehacks, will make the entire pool glow.

Plan your menu for socializing.

There are two ways to get people to socialize over food: either give them ample finger foods, or give them a food that forces them to put in work and actually chat with people while they eat.

The first category of party foods is often the best for most occasions. Everyone loves chips and dip, everyone knows how to eat a hot dog while talking to someone, and frankly, most finger foods are very low budget.

If you're going to go the finger food route, make sure the food you buy is somewhat portable. Portable dip cups are great for people who want to eat chips, but don't want to hover around the bowl. Hot dogs, hamburgers, and shish kebabs are great for people who love to mingle while eating.

If you want to go for the "working food" route, shellfish, fondue, and similar goodies tend to work best. This is a smart route for smaller, more intimate parties.

Lastly, if you see any people who are under the influence and belligerent, distract them.

I couldn't end this list without at least one party lifehack or two about dealing with drunk people.

Both drunk and high people tend to be very easy to handle — if you know how to handle them. Most of the time, distraction and giving them a lollipop will work wonders at keeping them pacified.

Slowly talking them down, such as saying that you understand why they feel that way, but it's totally not worth getting upset over, can also help. If they get too wild, just get them out of there via a cab.

Thankfully, these party lifehacks won't have to be used too often, as long as you invite the right people.
