I Tried Drinking a Gallon of Water A Day For A Week

Here’s what I learned

I want to first say that yes water is good for you, and yes it helps your body but a gallon a day isn’t worth it!

The first day of completing this challenge was kind of a rush for me because at some point I forgot I was even doing a challenge. So as I tried to cram bottles of water into a little time frame it became painful. I would have to use the bathroom about fifteen times in thirty minutes. The second day was not to different, but I learned my lesson for day three.

Day three was simple I started drinking the water at 9am and finished at about 10pm. This gave me a 13 hour span on trying to finish this gallon a day challenge for this day. By this day I was over drinking water, I was overseeing the bathroom and I was definitely tired of not seeing any benefits.

Day four was pretty tough because at this time I had already peed a countless amount of times and almost had an accident on my drive home from work. Drinking a lot of water definitely keeps you VERY VERY VERY regular and I’m living proof.

Day 5 I had already had enough of water and wanted to just be done with this challenge because who would really care if I stuck it out, I still kept going even with little to no motivation.

Day 6 I checked my weight and it seemed I had gained about 3 pounds now it could have either been the water weight or it could have been the food I was endlessly stuffing into my mouth hole through this vigorous challenge. We may never know!

Day SEVEN the last day was a breeze I finish the day strong and just a little bit bloated. The peeing subsided and I was happy to have finished the challenge strong.

The Take Away

I noticed my face seemed a bit brighter and I was not getting any headaches and I was not feeling very bloated. There was no SIGNIFICANT change within my body.

The lesson I learned about myself is I love water but not so much that I can drink a gallon a day. I also learned that it doesn’t help me personally to drink a gallon a day in any shape or form. The last thing I learned was that when stoping the gallon a day challenge you have to take it day by day decreasing your intake because if you don’t you will start to get headaches and you will regret it.

If you are wondering if you should try this, ehh I don’t think so but if you have nothing better to do go for it boo! Just do not expect your body to make a significant change in seven days unless you are also changing your diet the same week you are drinking a gallon a day.

Conclusion

All in all I have a love/hate relationship with water it makes me feel great but it also makes me have a full relationship with the bathroom that I don’t love at all. This experience reminded me of being pregnant which again I loved but not the bathroom part.

In conclusion I do not think this challenge is really worth the hype, I mean yeah you get clear skin but at the end of the day going to the bathroom for clear skin isn’t worth it to me. I also find that water is very bland sometimes and easy to get over unless you are stuck in the middle of a dessert and are dying of thirst. This challenge definitely isn’t for everyone !!! So if you do try this challenge do your research !!
