Epson is a popular Japanese multinational industry famous for manufacturing electronics goods. This company also manufactures a wide range of printer devices. These devices offer a simple interface and allow you to connect them with any device. New Epson printers are multifunctional; you need a single device to take print out, scan or copy the document. These devices are very reliable and simple to use. But many users still face error code 0xf1 while using Epson printers.

Resolving Epson printer 0xf1 error code

Run a printer troubleshooter

If the printer shows Epson printer error code 0xf1 then check for runtime errors. Sometimes, the printing process gets a runtime error and some printer files stop working. You have to fix those files to resume printing. But finding and repairing those corrupted printer files is difficult. On Windows devices, you can use a printer troubleshooter. Windows has an inbuilt troubleshooting that can fix various printer errors. Go to the Update & Security tab. Open the troubleshooter tab and click on Additional. Now hit on the Printer and run the tool. Your troubleshooter will start searching for all printer files. If any file is damaged, this tool will fix it. After repairing the files, resend a print command and check for error codes.

Reconnect your Epson printer to the PC or Wi-Fi

If the printer is connected to the PC then disconnect it. Remove the cable and check for any damage. You can get the error code when you are using a low-speed cable for connecting the printer. Get a high-speed cable and reconnect the printer to your PC. If the USB port seems loose then connect the printer using another port.

In Wi-Fi connection, disable Wi-Fi on both devices. Now restart the Wi-Fi and check whether the Wi-Fi lamp of the printer is blinking or not. If yes then check the printer screen for available networks. Select the correct SSID of the network and connect the printer.

Reinstall your printer driver

Error code 0xf1 can appear when the printer can’t find the required driver. Your printer will only communicate with the computer when you have installed the driver. Go to the printer and check for all the installed drivers. Select your Canon printer driver and run an update. After updating, your printer will find the driver and will start working. Sometimes, you get the error when you have installed the wrong driver. Every Epson printer model has a different driver. If you are using a different model then you need a different driver. Check the model of your printer device. Now get the correct driver and now check for errors.

Undo the recent changes

If your Epson printer is showing a 0xf1 error code after making some changes on the revert the changes. You may get the error when you make invalid changes to your printer settings. To fix the printer error code, you have to undo all those changes. Go to the Epson printer and reopen the settings. Now undo all your recent changes. In case, you don’t remember the changes you made on your device then use a reset tool. Go to the Epson printer settings and hit the Reset option. Now tap on Reset All and choose the Confirm button. After resetting the printer, you can easily reconnect the printer and take the printouts.

Reinstall the cartridges

Your printer requires cartridges to take printouts. If your printer is showing error code 0xf1 then check for the cartridges. You may get an error when your printer can’t find the required cartridges. Go to the printer and check the slot's status. If it is showing an error then eject all the cartridges. Errors appear when the cartridge pins can’t touch the contacts correctly. Clean the cartridges and slots carefully and reinstall the cartridges. Your printer may not read the third-party cartridges. Go to the printer and replace those cartridges with the original ones. Instead of using clone cartridges, you can refill the original cartridges with high-quality ink.

Check the printhead of your device

The printer won’t work if the printhead is clogged. When you take a lot of printouts and don’t clean the printhead; it gets clogged. You have to clean the printhead to fix the error. The Epson printer has a utility tool to clean the printhead. Run the tool 3-4 times and then check the printhead. You should also check the fuser of your printer. If the printer fuser seems overheated then shut down the printer for a while. Once the fuser cools down, restart the printer and try to take your printouts.
