The majority of people who come to me with this or a related issue are certain that they know their password and that they are accurately entering all of their information, yet they are still unable to log in. They are prevented from logging in either as a result of an account hack, merely being mistaken about the truth, or encountering that extra security measure from Microsoft.

Without a phone number, how can I get back into my Outlook account? 1-888-864-4128

  • Dispatch the password reset page.
  • The "I forgot my password" option should be checked.
  • Choose Next.
  • your email address.
  • Fill out the verification code.
  • Choose the option for account reset.
  • your email address.
  • Obtain the recovery key.

Furthermore, they do not have access to any of the accounts or phone numbers they put up as backups on their Microsoft account (any Outlook.com account, including Outlook), not even momentarily when travelling. As a result, it cannot be collected when the login process tries to send a verification code to one of those accounts or numbers.

The only course of action I'm aware of at that time is to start the account recovery procedure.

Keep in mind that not all accounts may have access to all recovery options. Things not only vary, but which ones are available may also depend on your account settings and maybe even your location.

As I previously indicated, Microsoft may request further verification even after you provide the right password when logging in, particularly while you're travelling. When this occurs, a new dialogue box displays.

Select "I don't have these any more" if you no longer have access to the alternate email address(es) or phone number(s) specified. Click the "Verify online" button after the "Send code" button changes.

Now, a potentially manual account-verification process will take over the recovery process.

The email address of the account to which you are seeking to obtain access is once more provided, along with an additional email address where others may reach you. Any account that you presently have access to can serve as this second email address.

Choose Next. The second email account may be used to send you a code that you must input to prove you have access to it. After that, a page seeking several pieces of information will be displayed to you.

The screen requests that you enter as much information as you can regarding the account, such as:

  • Your name and date of birth.
  • Your address.
  • If you have any set up security questions, the response to them.
  • You could have already used other passwords on this account.
  • The subjects of any recent emails you may have sent.
  • Any folder names you've made in your account.
  • Any contacts to whom you've recently sent emails, along with their email addresses.
  • Billing details, such as a credit card if you have one connected to the account.
  • The objective of this process is to submit sufficient evidence to support your claim that you are the account's legitimate owner.

Again, it's crucial to include as much detail as you can.

After doing so, click Submit.1

Your wait is now.

Microsoft receives the information, and a result occurs. We don't know what that item is, but I would assume it consists of a number of primarily automatic efforts to check the information you've provided against the account. The reason I say "mostly" automated is because I believe some require human verification.

You will receive an email with a password reset link if you have provided sufficient information and the system believes that you are the rightful account holder based solely on that information.

If not, you'll obtain the following:

Your only real choice at this point is to return to the account information form and update the information, which is the "best option" given.

Important: if you are unable to accomplish this, there is currently no other option to proceed and recover access to the account. I am unable to assist you.
