Located on the central coast of Vietnam, Hoi An is an ancient town. The town is well-preserved, and buildings, canals, and bridges reflect foreign influences. Thanks to the colonial-style buildings, undisturbed wilderness, and canals that make the town resemble Venice, Hoi An has become a sought-after travel destination. The town is home to a number of spa hotels, promoting wellness and admiration for all things old. Here’s how you can plan a spa getaway in Hoi An.

Book a time

This is about figuring out the best time to visit. Hoi An has a tropical climate, meaning it can be hot and humid all throughout the year, but it does not mean there’s no rainy season. While every month is considered a good month to visit Hoi An, the period from February to July is considered the best for tourists; with minimal rainfall and bearable temperatures, you are certain to have a wonderful time during this time. Also, remember that visiting during the high season means that you’ll end up paying a lot of money for everything, including accommodation and flights.

Book your accommodations

Accommodation is an important part of any holiday, whether it’s a spa getaway or a regular holiday. If you want Hoi An spa & wellness to be the theme of your vacation, you should stay at a place with a spa. Most hotels and resorts, the likes of Anantara Hoi An Resort, for example, offer various spa treatments. Do your research; look out for discounts, packages, and seasonal offers.

Make time for relaxing activities

Come up with a list of wellness activities. You shouldn’t spend your entire vacation at the resort; you should get yourself out there and experience nature. Go for a walk, explore the town, visit cultural and historical sites, and mingle with nature. Hoi An has a feel of the lost world, which means that the atmosphere is calm and slow-paced, the perfect setting for a spa and wellness getaway.

Eat healthily

Junk food seems to be the go-to food when on holiday, but this shouldn’t be the case when you are on a spa and wellness vacation. You should eat healthily; your meals should consist of vegetables, meat, fish, and leafy greens. Keep away from processed food and give your body the chance to recover from all the unhealthy food you’ve been eating. Of course, you are not expected to spend hours preparing your meals; your hotel will do that for you – this is why it’s important that you choose an accommodation provider that caters for wellness-minded tourists.

Meditate

Make sure your resort is located in a natural and beautiful setting so that you can find a spot to meditate. You can, of course, meditate in your room, but it would be better if you went out into nature.

Yoga

If you’ve been wanting to start doing some yoga but couldn’t find the time, your time in Hoi An is your chance. Attend a yoga class while you are here and let your body and mind benefit from the healing powers of this ancient practice. Some hotels and resorts offer yoga as part of their package as well; it would be best if you could stay at a hotel that promotes yoga, meditation, spa treatments, and healthy eating habits.

Go to the beach

Don’t forget to take it a little easy. Even though you are on a spa getaway, and your purpose is to be healthy, you should let go once in a while – this doesn’t mean you should hit the bar and drink until you are completely knocked off. You could do something as simple as going to the beach to see the sunset or taking a stroll around the town, admiring the old-world charm.
