How to get rid of the smell of cigarettes

The smell of cigarettes is not only annoying, but it has a habit of going deep into fabrics and furniture, making it almost impossible to remove it.

Of course, there are a lot of products in stores, all expensive, which ensure that you will get rid of the unpleasant smell of cigarettes. But most of it just covers it up, freshening up your house for only a few hours.

That's why you need to learn how to get rid of the smell of cigarettes with the help of things in the kitchen, forever.

First of all, you need to know that the rooms where cigarette smoke enters should be ventilated daily. Then the curtains, blinds, drapes, rugs, and bedding in the rooms that come in contact with cigarette smoke require washing as often as possible.

The filters of the air conditioners must be changed more often when smoking in the house.

Lemon and orange

Among the oldest tricks used by smokers to hide the fact that they smoke is the use of citrus fruits. Citrus fruits are among the most powerful natural fragrances, so you can use them with confidence to eliminate the smell of cigarettes.

You can either burn the orange peel or lemon with a lighter to remove its fragrant oils or cut it in half, scoop it out, then add the chopped orange slices, soaked in oil, and let the composition burn.

Vinegar

Surely you have heard about the power of vinegar as a disinfectant and air freshener. When you have finished washing the refrigerator with vinegar, be sure to pour it from the glass and into a spray container. Put water on it and spray it around the room. If you do this immediately after smoking in the house, the smoke will not enter the curtains, carpets, or furniture.

In the long run, put vinegar in various containers in all smoking rooms. The vinegar will last a few days, while the smell of cigarettes will be eliminated in a few hours.

Baking soda

Baking soda is also a reliable help in eliminating the unpleasant smell of cigarette smoke. All you have to do is put it in textile sachets in the rooms where you have problems with the smoke because it will do its job on its own. Also, if you have a reliable vacuum cleaner, you can spread baking soda on your carpets 10 minutes before vacuuming. By doing so, you will also inhale the cigarette smoke.

Rosemary

You can also prepare a natural air freshener, which helps you get rid of cigarette smoke. In a bowl half full of water, you have to put a sliced lemon and a sprig or 2–3 rosemary powders. Leave the composition to ferment for a day, incorporating some vanilla essence. Then you can spray this air freshener with a spray bottle.

Water and vinegar for furniture

The most unpleasant odors are crammed into the wood of the furniture and the parquet, and the cigarette has a leading place. So, if you are going to smoke, make sure you have time to wash the furniture more often. The furniture can be wiped with a cotton cloth and water with vinegar.

After vacuuming and putting the pillowcases in the washing machine, you have to take serious care of the other places where the sinful cigarette smoke has entered: walls, doors, windows. All should be cleaned as often as possible so as not to clog.

As you can see, getting rid of cigarette butts can be a daunting task. To make sure you don't have to do all of the above at once, always keep an air freshener and a bowl of vinegar in the room, ventilate often, and take care of the weekly cleaning.
