Why should we clean our phones?

Phone cleaning is important, but many people neglect it. Your phone should be clean and shiny all the time, so it's worth taking a few minutes every once in a while to make sure it stays that way.

Phones that are not kept clean tend to collect dust and dirt and other types of nastiness. This can lead to all kinds of problems from bad screens to damaged circuits. And who knows what sort of weird stuff may have gotten on your phone if you don’t clean it for a long time? Eventually, this will reflect on your health and your personal hygiene as well.

How to clean our Phones?

To clean your phone, just use a microfiber cloth or a soft brush. Gently remove all the dust and dirt, and then wipe down your phone with a damp cloth. Do this once in a while to extend the life of your screen and prevent it from getting smudged.

If you don't have a microfiber cloth or a soft brush just use a piece of paper and some rubbing alcohol (not 100 percent). Dip the paper into the alcohol and rub your phone gently. This will loosen up the dirt and dust on your phone and remove it for you. Make sure you never put your phone face down on a surface that has hard material like stone or concrete. This can scratch your screen and shorten its life.

If you want to disinfect and clean your phone even more thoroughly, use a special phone cleaning product. These special cleaners are made to remove germs and viruses from various surfaces.

How Often Should You Clean Your Phone?

Your phone should be cleaned once or twice a day. This helps extend the life of your phone by reducing the buildup of dust and other contaminants. That is also important in maintaining personal hygiene. The best time to clean your phone would be right after heavy use, before you put it away to charge, or after you get home.

Don't overdo it

Disinfecting your phone is important, but be careful not to overdo it. If you use too much product, or if you use concentrated cleaning sollutions, your phone may end up looking like it has been soaked in rubbing alcohol for too long. If you are not sure, test the product on a hidden area of another invaluable surface to make sure that it won’t cause any damage to any of the components on your phone.

More Tips on Cleaning your Phone

  1. Dry your phone after wet cleaning in order to remove the remaining anything that could stay after your phones dries.
  2. Use a clean toothbrush to remove small dirt and debris in areas that are hard to reach. Use a soft bristled brush and wipe off the excess with a soft cloth or paper towel. Never use steel wool or anything hard on your phone. It can scratch the coating.
  3. Don't use any type of cleaning agent other than what the manufacturer specified.
  4. Always keep your phone in a plastic bag when it's not in use. This will protect it from dust and other particles.
  5. Do not wet clean the inside of your phone because that will create a breeding ground for mold and mildew and could cause damage to the internal components. And especially don't use any type of harsh cleaning agents or abrasives like rubbing alcohol, nail polish remover, or similar products on those internal components. The best way to clean the inside of your phone is by using a hair drier. This will remove all the dust and grime from the inside. Just make sure that the hair drier is not on hot mode and that it does not touch the surface of your phone. Doing so could cause fatal damage to your phone.
