Showering is something most if not all people take part in, at least a few times a week or a few times a day. Showering before work right after you wake up is also common. Usually, a hot shower is what people have in mind when it comes to showering in the morning and showering in the morning.

However, what if I told you however that it's time to start taking cold showers. Although you may not want to hear it, however, I really suggest you take cold showers. In this article, I’ll be telling you why by explaining all of the many benefits of taking cold showers.

Cold Showers Wake You Up In The Morning and Increase Productivity

This one should be obvious and pretty self-explanatory, but I’ll explain why exactly. When you take a cold shower and feel the extremely cold water, you become in shock. Your oxygen intake increases and your heart rate rises.

When your heart rate and oxygen intakes rise, your body becomes shocked, therefore making you more alert and awake. This is an easy way to, first of all, avoid caffeine in the morning, but second of all to naturally wake yourself up.

In addition to waking you up in the morning, cold showers increase productivity, allowing you to function better throughout the day.

Cold Showers Put You To Bed In The Night and Make You Have Better Sleep

I find it quite funny that cold showers wake you up and put you to bed. Cold showers have been proven to put you to bed in the night much faster. They have also been proven to help with putting you to bed in the night.

Cold Showers Reduce Depression and Increase Happiness

This is one of my favorite benefits of taking cold showers. They make you happier, and if you are depressed they reduce your depression! The reason for this is that cold showers hit the skin and send impulses to the nerves in your brain, in turn releasing noradrenaline, which is known for getting rid of depression.

Cold Showers Reduce Fat and Increase Metabolism

In the human body, there are two primary types of fat, brown and white fat. Brown fat is made to regulate the heat in your body, keeping you warm. By taking cold showers, you are activating that brown fat to regulate your body as extremely cold water falls onto your skin.

By activating the brown fat, you are also increasing your metabolism, calories burned, and overall energy.

Cold Showers Improve Your Skin and Hair

Using cold water on your skin and in showers does the opposite of what hot showers does to it. Hot showers damage your skin and hair and strip it of its natural oils. Cold showers on the other hand don’t do this. Instead, cold showers allow your hair to be clean without damaging the natural oils and also by making it shinier!

Cold Showers Increase Circulation and Soothe Muscle Soreness

Cold showers are proven to soothe muscle soreness after an intense workout. Almost all types of athletes have been documented and studied taking cold showers or immersing themselves in cold water. This could take form in 5–10 minute ice baths or extremely cold showers.

However, you don’t need to be like the athletes to soothe your post-workout muscle soreness. All you have to do is take a much shorter cold shower!

As you can see, there are so many benefits to taking cold showers. I urge you to try taking cold showers for thirty days and see the changes. Why not write and capitalize off of it as well! Do weekly check-ins on your blog or on vocal! Make sure to @ me as well. I would love to see what you come up with.

Best of luck to anyone who takes on this challenge to help their mental health, body, and lifestyle!
