In most cities, having a pool in your backyard can make you the life of the street. There are some neighborhoods that have a pool built into every backyard on the block. Not everyone is lucky enough to say they have one of their own though. Most homeowner associations have public pools built for the use of the local residents, and this is always a great convenience. If you have the space and money to purchase a pool of your very own, then why not go ahead and do it? There are plenty of ways to be able to afford a pool as well as many ways to make it work for your yard no matter how small or large.

Kid Pools

One route you can go is to grab one of those plastic kiddie pools that you see hung up outside of the Walmart stores. Those are super fun... but probably not exactly what you had in mind. You may have considered purchasing a much larger, above ground pool. This can be set up below ground as well and still beat the price of purchasing a brand new customized pool. If you're looking to purchase a customized pool and are wondering how you could afford one, then try looking into financing. Pool financing is available through some companies, especially those who are in the market to help others and still run their business.

A pool can cost a pretty penny, especially if you are forking over the full amount all at once, but keep in mind that the cost continues to be paid each month to maintain it. Of course, the size and shape of your pool will determine the price, but pools can range anywhere from $3,000 and up. If you are looking to get a much higher-end pool, then you are looking at paying out about $100,000 or so. Each month it can range from $100 to $700 just to keep it cleaned and well kept. Now, if you happen to have that kind of money just lying around, then go for the whole tamale and get the water slide too! You can always consider the freestanding installs, which are much more affordable, ranging between $3,500 to about $15,000. If you decide to add a hot tub as well, then you are most likely going to pay about $5,000 to about $20,000, plus your monthly maintain fees that come along after.

Laws

Pools are required to have a gate around them too. By law, in California, if there is not a locked gate around your pool, then you must get one. This prevents unnecessary drowning. There have been so many reports in the prior years of children succumbing to this fate when it did not have to happen.

Refinancing

Another way that a homeowner can afford to purchase a pool and all of its extras would be to refinance their house. This can not only possibly get you a better rate in some cases, but it will definitely help you get your property value up by providing more than enough to remodel your yard and build a pool. Your house will be your new paradise, as it should always be. Home equity loans are another options as well. This is for those who have actually built up enough equity in their home. If you put down a significant amount of money when you purchased your home, then you may not have to wait for the "6 year rule." This is usually the amount of time needed to show any kind of equity for this type of loan. This is also a great time to start a new remodel or project of this nature.
