Our homes are an extension of who we are: what we do inside our homes shapes our mood, affects our productivity and influences our outlook on life.

Scientific studies have shown that adjusting small habits and routines can have a powerful impact on our well-being.

A tidy house brings us happiness

Simple and quick habits help us to start the day right. Gretchen Rubin, the author of The Happiness Project, believes that a simple way to be happy is to go to bed every morning.

Through this action, we keep order in the room and thus improve our mood.

On the other hand, making the bed every morning is a motivating habit. Admiral William H. McRaven gave a speech to Austin University graduates in May 2014, which later turned into a book in which he spoke about the importance of this custom.

According to him, if we make the bed every morning, we fulfill the first task of the day and this gives us an incentive to do the next ones as well. It is important to do the small things and then the big ones.

It has been proven that if we work or spend time in a tidy room, we are less anxious and stressed. As a result, it is important to maintain order in the bedroom daily, because that is how we maintain our inner order.

To do this, it is advisable to furnish the room according to our needs. A set of bedside tables are useful, as their drawers are perfect for storing household items.

If we are accustomed to reading at bedtime, completing our papers, or checking important documents, bedside tables help us to keep all the essentials at hand and, at the same time, to keep order in the room at all times. Details here!

Objects that spoil the look of your bathroom make it look cheap and untidy. Get rid of them urgently!

Objects with sentimental value give us a sense of comfort

A house full of pleasant memories is a comfortable place to relax or work.

Photos with family members and dear friends, souvenirs from your favorite holidays, paintings that give us a sense of peace, and flowers are just some of the objects that can make a home more welcoming and comfortable.

The pleasant experiences we have had over time can be part of our lives every day if we arrange the home using objects that remind us of pleasant moments. Therefore, it is recommended that we turn our home into a gallery of positive memories.

The useful and the pleasant make a good home

A stylishly furnished house is pleasing to the eye and so we can enjoy a pleasant image of the space in which we spend time, but it is vital not to lose sight of the utilitarian aspect.

Therefore, when we arrange our home, it is advisable to make sure that we equip the kitchen with the perfect appliances to prepare delicious snacks when we want to relax and eat healthy, that every room in the house is well lit (if we do not have part of natural light, it is good to use specific LEDs for each room) and that we breathe fresh air at any time (flowers are a reliable ally to keep the air clean in a room, as well as humidifiers and dehumidifiers).

Every moment we spend in the house is important, so it is good to arrange the house so that we feel happy and comfortable every day.
