Hand-Crafted Gifts Under Five Dollars

2020 was a unique year in many ways. Many of us are struggling financially. Personally, I spent more than half of 2020 unemployed. I know that I'm not the only one either.

While things are slowly improving, money is definitely going to be tight. So, I thought to myself - what can I gift people that is (a) low priced and (b) personalized and not from Amazon or another major retailer. This is a difficult task, so I took some of the work out of it for you.

I scoured Etsy, looking for unique, hand-crafted deals for under five dollars. This is what I came up with.

1. Custom Chapstick Holder by CarolinaCanCoolers

This custom designed keyring will prevent your giftee from ever losing their favorite chapstick. Designed by CarolinaCanCoolers on Etsy, these keyring chapstick holders come in a multitude of colors and designs and can be customized with names, initials etc. A quick $3 fix to a common problem! Maybe this time you'll actually finish a tube.

2. I'm a Pickle Dill Pickle Lip Balm by SnowsCutSoaps

Want a weird lip balm to go with your cute holder? SnowCutSoaps has a pickle flavored lip balm for only 3.50. Definitely a funny gift item, although I cant imagine how a pickle flavored lip balm must taste and smell. Good for the weird friend in your life, or the guy who can't get over the Pickle Rick thing.

3. Personalized Hand Sanitizer Holder Keychain by SunshineandSports

Or maybe instead of chapstick, your giftee knows it's 2020 and is always carrying their hand sanitizer around. I currently count three mini hand sanitizers in my own bag. To prevent sanitizer from getting lost or spilled into purses and backpacks, this keychain holds your miniature sized hand sanitizer. You can choose from dozens of styles and the option to add a name for a dollar. It should hold most mini-sized hand sanitizers.

4. Among Us Face Mask by Galeashop

I wasn't going to include this one because it's a temporary sale, down from 9.99 to 4.99, but I felt the need to include it anyway. If you spend any time around young adults and teens, you know about Among Us, the PC and phone game. I work with teenagers and I haven't stopped hearing about it in months. I've also played in a couple of times and it's definitely a lot of fun. If you have to wear a mask, you might as well wear a fun one, and fans of the game would love this little gift.

5. Among Us Cookie Cutter by digiCanal

Or maybe you want to give your Among Us obsessed friend something to do outside of their obsessive playing. digiCanal offers a 3.25x2.5 cookie cutter shaped like a crew member... or maybe it's a cookie imposter. It would make a unique holiday project, especially for the eternally bored.

6. Face Masks With Nose Wire by ElimStation

Or, tis the season to be jolly - yes, even in 2020! Etsy store ElimStation has face masks with nose wires, filter pockets and adjustable ear loops. While some designs are over five dollars, many, including the Christmas designs are 4.99. I don't know about you, but for me the holiday season lasts way after December 25th, and many of these fancy winter styles are things I'd wear into February.

7. Dinosaur Bath Bomb by BloomHerbalBlends

Dinosaurs and bath bombs make a pretty awesome combination. These bath bombs from BloomHerbalBlends would appeal to both children and adults, with a scented bath bomb that reveals a dinosaur toy inside. Jurassic Park and a hot bath, anyone? I love bath bombs, but don't necessarily want to buy from a major retailer.

8. Personalized Paw Print Charm by TheBespokeWorkshop1

Maybe your giftee is in love with their furry friend. TheBespokeWorkshop1 has these really cute pawprint charms that can be customized with their pet's name.

Remember, it's not the amount you spend on someone that matters. Gifting has always been about showing someone you care and that you're thinking about them. These gifts may have a low price tag, but they're thoughtful and will make the holidays of 2020 special.
