A lot of eating and eating out is around the corner which could ultimately take a toll on our gut health. Read this article to know about some of the best foods that can help you maintain good gut health during the festive season or not. About a hundred trillion microorganisms live in a gastrointestinal tract .

This community of microbes which is thought of as a virtual organ in the body plays some very important roles like regulating our gastrointestinal Health taking care of our immune Health regulating our metabolic Health including conditions like obesity blood sugar and diabetes gut health also has an impact on our mental health and our mood .so goes without saying that taking care of our gut health is pivotal to our overall health and Immunity. draw bananas called plantains and ripe bananas are both excellent prebiotics which means that they provide food for the friendly bacteria in our gut allowing them to thrive and flourish raw bananas have something called resistant starch while ripe bananas have a dietary fiber called inulin both these are excellent food for the gut bacteria dry banana can be had first thing in the morning or as a snack pre-workout while raw banana can be cooked into a sabzi or a curry sometimes the flour of raw banana is used for making halwas and rotis the second food item on my list is rice.

yes rice in a world where everybody is avoiding rice .I'm asking you to eat rice because rice is not all that bad rice has resistant starch in it which promotes the growth of friendly bacteria in our gut the resistant starch in rice is higher especially .when it is left to cool down after cooking resistant starch Etc just remember that rice should always be paired with lentils or vegetables to reduce the spike in blood sugar and insulin response post consumption because rice does have a high glycemic index the third item on my list is GERD or dahi curd contains live microorganisms in it

is present in all varieties of rice including white rice red rice black rice curd contains live microorganisms in it which are good for the health of our gut I am a big fan of homesick curd but if that is not a feasible option for you you can go for the store-bought varieties of good just remember to avoid the flavored and the sweetened varieties of yogurt occurred and go for the unflavored ones curd can be had as a meal accompaniment or just by itself but my favorite food item involving curd is curd rice because it provides a fantastic combination of Prebiotic as well as probiotic for the gut the fourth food item for good gut health are legumes the category of legumes includes different beans like red kidney beans or rajma moth beans or matki or even Moon beans legumes also includes the various lentils or dals like Masood Dal moong Dal Tua Dal Etc legumes are one of the richest sources of resistant starch and therefore including them in the diet ensures a good growth of our gut micro the fifth food item on my list is ghee or clarified butter as a West concert he has something called butyric acid which is a short chain fatty acid and an excellent food for the gut microbes regular consumption of ghee helps with gut inflammation and other gut related issues I have a detailed video on ghee I'll link it down below in case you are interested ghee can be added to your dals rotis parathas or you can even make ladoos in ghee but just like all good things ghee should not be overdone as well because it is a source of saturated fats a total of 2 to 4 teaspoons of ghee every day is recommended of course some days you can have a little less and some days a little more and that is totally fine so a quick recap my top five foods for good gut health include bananas rice curd legumes and ghee I hope you include these Foods on a regular basis in your diet for reaping the best benefits out of them on that note I end today's video I'll see you guys in my next video take care until then and enjoy the festive season bye
