Tips to have a breathtaking glow up in 15 days. Having a glow up is an empowering transformation of who you are. That feeling of having people gasp at how beautiful or good-looking you've become or how assertive and confident you've become. Trust me, it's a good feeling and everyone deserves to feel that thrill. Having a glow up might require you changing your appearance, drinking more water, saying no to those exciting bad habits, or in achieving your goals. Whatever glow up means to you, it's all about becoming the best version of yourself (maybe not the best, but definitely a better version of you). So, let's dive in on how we can achieve that breathtaking radiance that we've always wanted. The first part is … Changing your Appearance. Your appearance is the first thing people notice about you so, it's no surprise that it's one of the major thing if not the only thing you're in dire need of changing about you “I get it, everyone wants to be pretty and have that halo effect and become like Angelina Jolie or Chris Hemsworth but if you don't work on your self worth, and self confidence, you might just never exude their kind of aura”. Here are some ways to change your appearance: Incorporating a healthy skincare routine: You might be skeptical and say “we've heard so much about following a good skincare routine and yet, it still doesn't work. Trust me Darling, it's either you're doing it the wrong way, or you're just not using the right products. Your skin is one of the best things that people notice about you and having a glowing skin, will really help your transformation shine. These are a few tips for you to have a glowing skin, remember to keep it simple. *Clean your face twice a day with water or a cleanser. *Use a toner, moisturizer, and exfoliator that is suitable for your skin type. *A good serum could do wonders to your skin too. Example: the vitamin c serum or a retinol. A kind reminder to be comfortable In your own skin and avoid skin damaging products. For my ladies, remember to take off your make-up each night before you go to sleep so that you wake up with fresh skin. If you have problems or concerns with your skin, visit a dermatologist for professional advice. Getting your skin to glow might be as simple as using a different product, eating healthy or just reducing stress. If you're confused on products to use, go to tiktok or Instagram, and browse about a good skincare recommendation for fair, dark., or caramel skin and get honest reviews about the products. 2)Improving your posture: I am guilty of having a bad posture and slouching especially when I'm on my phone “I guess we'll change together, I need a glow up on that too”. Your posture can make a huge difference in your appearance. Here is what to do: *Keep your back straight, your shoulder back, and your arms resting naturally by your sides. *When you're sitting down, keep your back at a right angle to your thighs and try to release any tension to prevent muscle strain. *Always walk confidently with your head held up high, and your chest out; “yea! That's more like it, good job!” If you experience any trouble maintaining a good posture, do not hesitate to visit a doctor. 3)Wear good clothes: Wearing good clothes and dressing beautifully has a way of speaking for itself without you saying or doing much. Your clothing style can actually tell people a lot about you, so mind what you wear. Wearing clothes that flaunt your best features will help you look and feel your best!. Wear clothes that emphasize your favorite features. Maybe, you want to wear a color that can turn heads, or a tight cloth that would accentuate your figure. Try out different clothes and experiment with different outfits to find a style you love. *Ultimately, wear clothes that make you feel happy and confident. While looking good in your clothes, remember to smell nice too. 4)Get a new hairstyle that you have always wanted to try. Don't be scared, go on! Trust me, you would love it. Take the plunge and get that cut, color, or braids you have always wanted!. Look online for inspiration, go to pinterest and print out or screenshot pictures to take along with you to your hair appointment. Explain to your hairstylist the look you're going for and listen to their advice about what cut or color would work best for your style. “Voila! You look stunning on that hairstyle” this is a compliment you're going to get, even from random people. A new hairstyle is an easy and effective way to quickly change your appearance dramatically!. Experimenting with makeup This one is for my ladies, take your crown gorgeous queen, you're literally soo beautiful that you don't need makeup; I mean look at you, you're breathtaking. Makeup is a good way to enhance your looks so experiment with makeup to see if you like how it makes you look. Whether makeup is foreign to you or you want to try out a new product, experimenting with makeup can make a huge difference to your appearance. Try out the free makeup tutorials available online, “youtube and tiktok are good apps to find contents like this. Even if you decide that makeup is not for you, at least you have practiced a new skill. *Remember to care of your skin especially if you use makeup regularly. Always moisturize and take off your make-up at the end of the day. For my beginners and newbies in make-up, here's a little guide for you. Moisturizer____sunscreen____primer____ foundation____concealer____,powder___ blush___highlighter____eyeshadow_____ Eyeliner___mascara____lipstick. Follow the steps to achieve a simple glowy makeup. Now that we're done with changing your appearance. There's another important aspect of you that deserves a glow up too, and that is your lifestyle . Part 2; Making healthy lifestyle changes . Drinking water everyday to stay hydrated: Glowing up happens from the inside out and water is the key to helping you look and feel your best everyday. Buy a reusable drink bottle and keep it filled with fresh water at all times. Carry it with you wherever you go to remind yourself to stay hydrated. *The ideal amount of water differs from person to person. Drink the amount of water that helps you to feel your best and visit a doctor or a dietician if you have any concern. *If you aren't a fan of plain water, you could try making infused water using your favorite fruits and vegetables e.g strawberry, cucumber, lemon, mint etc. *Remembering to drink more water can be difficult when you first start. Try setting a reminder on your phone, or putting a note on the fridge. Or download smartphone apps that track your water intake. I want to share with you a little habit and morning ritual that my mother practices that actually works. So when you wake up in the morning, before you consume anything, drink a reasonable amount of warm water and thank me later. Brush your teeth regularly to help your smile look it's best and to have a fresh breath: A bright happy smile is a huge part of the glow up transformation!. Brush your teeth every morning and night, and remember to floss your teeth each day too. Visit a dentist at least once a year for an annual check up to keep your teeth healthy and strong. You can also use teeth whitening products to help your smile dazzle. Eat a well balanced diet with plenty of fruit and vegetables: How you fuel your body can make a huge difference to your glow up. Servings of fruit and vegetables, plenty of lean protein, whole grains, and healthy fats. Remember to take everything in moderation; and limit your intake of processed foods but treat yourself occasionally too (maybe, not everyday but in every 3-5 days). *Visit a doctor or dietician if you have any concerns about your diet and avoid skipping meals and avoid following folk diets. Exercise regularly to keep yourself healthy: Exercise helps you to look and feel your best in both your body and mind!. Find a type of exercise that you enjoy, such as running, yoga, swimming. Aim to exercise 3-5 times per week unless you've been instructed otherwise by a health professional. You don't have to join a gym, you could browse online about some workout routine and exercise at home ( this works well for me and introverts LOL). Part 3; self development. Say positive affirmations everyday to help build good self-esteem: A huge part of your glowup is learning to believe in yourself. Write down recurrent negative thoughts and then write positive, logical affirmations as a counter-argument. Practice saying these positive affirmations aloud everyday. Although it may feel difficult or silly at the beginning, with enough time and practice it should become easier to believe the positive. You could even write an affirmation on a sticky note and paste it on your mirror. That way, the affirmation would be a visual reflection of you. “I am beautiful”, “I deserve to be happy” “I am capable of reaching my goals”. Could go a long way if you keep telling yourself this. Trust me, nobody can can toy with your self worth or make you feel any less of yourself if you know who you are. Surround yourself with positive people that support you: The attitude of the people who you are close to can influence you greatly. Seek family and friends that have a positive attitude and are supportive of who you are!. You can be positive and supportive to those around you, helping them glow too. If you are having trouble finding positive and supportive people, try making new friends, joining a club or group with people that have similar interests, use social media, or simply reach out and talk to new people that you normally wouldn't, go on, you have nothing to lose! 😉 . Use positive self-talk and practice being assertive to help your confidence grow: Glowing up is all about having the confidence to shine and to be yourself. Even if you don't feel confident right away, simply fake it till you make it; Trust me nobody will be able to tell the difference. Use positive self talk to bring yourself up instead of down. If you are having trouble with your confidence or self-esteem, talking to a counselor or psychologist can really help. *setting healthy boundaries and saying no when it's necessary will help in your glow up too. Set achievable goals and challenge yourself to accomplish them: Maybe you have a financial, career or personal goal that you have been wanting to achieve? Sit down and write a list of your goals. Then break each goal up into smaller, actionable steps that you can get started on. Keep your goals realistic and celebrate your successes! Remember that your goals can be as big or as little as you like. As long as you are realistic about how you will achieve them, that's all that matters. *incorporate healthy habits: waking up early, reading self development books, praying, journaling, working on quitting your unhealthy addiction, sleeping when it's necessary . Here is a little routine/ challenge that you can use for the next 15 days. Try to stick to it. For the next 15 days, I need you to: *Eat healthy *Exercise *Switch of your phone at 10pm *Wake up early *Quit sugar or minimal intake of sugar *Write/journal *Cleanse and moisturize *Drink water *Take vitamins and supplements *Meditate *Set a daily budget to help curb spending *Quit drinking *Read self development books at least one chapter a day. E.g atomic habits by James clear. Go to zlibrary and download the pdf version. *Evening questions- ask yourself questions like “what good have I done today” in the evening. *Take a break– you could go for a walk. *social media limit. *Do something new. *Practice Saying “No” *Quit coffee and other unhealthy habits. *Give something away/ donate *Set a daily intention *Do something that scares you *Make something It's not going to happen overnight. If you keep doing this, it will show in your attitude and appearance. I hope this helped. I love you ❤ and I believe in you.
