Of all the rooms in the house, the bedroom is the most "pampered", because we pay the most attention to it when decorating it.

All our effort is justified because the bedroom must be our oasis of relaxation and the place where we spend the most intimate and beautiful moments with our partner. However, we often make many mistakes in decorating the bedroom, even if it seems to us that the result is a successful one.

If you want to have a bedroom worthy of an interior design magazine, but also relaxing, avoid the following mistakes that most people make when arranging it!

What mistakes to avoid in decorating the bedroom

1. Use brightly colored bedding with loaded prints

One of the most common mistakes we make when decorating the bedroom is to choose very bold bedding, with which we try to give personality to the room.

Unfortunately, although it seems like a very good idea, the result is an unwanted one: bedding in bright colors can disturb our sleep and can induce a state of nervousness, bright colors being a visual stimulus not exactly suitable if we want to rest.

Solution: use white or cream bedding and choose to give the room personality with the help of decorative pillows in bold colors or with intricate prints. White bedding is the one that invites us the most to sleep and relaxes.

2. Do not decorate the bedroom walls with anything

Maybe you don't like the idea of putting a picture on the bed, because it reminds you of a not very tastefully decorated hotel room. Well, you don't even have to put up pictures, because they're not the only option. When you leave the walls bare, the room looks much colder and doesn't express your personality very well, and may even look a bit dull.

Solution: give up the painting idea if you don't like it, but choose other interesting and original options to decorate the walls: empty vintage frames, pictures with you or your loved ones, a painting made by yourself directly on the wall, an interesting sticker for wall, a vintage mirror, etc.

3. You have a lot of electronic products in the bedroom

Here is another mistake in decorating the bedroom that has more repercussions than we could imagine. Most people can't imagine their bedroom without a TV.

And if there's still a TV, why not have a surround speaker system and a computer, right? Wrong! The more electronics you have in the bedroom, the worse you will sleep and you will not be able to detach yourself from everyday problems.

Solution: Give up the TV in the bedroom and, in general, any electronic object, including the telephone. The light of the screens resembles that of the day, which disturbs our sleep and makes us wake up tired. Do you often fall asleep watching TV and find yourself feeling tired even if you rest according to the recommendations? Now you know why!

4. You do not have enough light sources

The bedroom should have plenty of natural light to create a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. The problem arises when you decide on the artificial light source.

If the only source you have is the chandelier, this is a mistake to decorate the bedroom (which many people do). The light in the bedroom should be moderate, by no means bright.

The solution: to have optimal light in the bedroom, we recommend that you buy more lamps to put at different heights. In addition to the chandelier, it would be better to have a lamp with diffused light on a chest of drawers and, of course, a lamp on the bedside table, with a light strong enough to be able to read your favorite book. In addition, you can add ambient light, because that too can have a relaxing effect.

5. Adopt a messy style

Even if you are a fan of a more unconventional style and you are looking to get that bohemian and feminine mess you see in magazines, keep in mind that it is more important for the bedroom to be a relaxing space than to look exactly the way you wanted.

A messy bedroom is a source of stress even if you do not realize it and the clutter in the room can be reflected in your emotional or mental state.

The solution: keep order in the bedroom and organize it as well as possible so that you can relax in it and not spend hours looking for various objects. Invest in various storage systems and you will get that decor full of personality that you dreamed of.

The main purpose of decorating the bedroom should be to create a relaxing and welcoming atmosphere, so follow the tips above and you will be able to rest properly!
