Even if you don't have a big garden, that doesn't mean you can't plant fruit trees. Indeed, you can't harvest industrial quantities of fruit if you don't have space, but you can enjoy fresh and healthy fruit from time to time or make a 100% natural homemade jam.

For people who do not have a large yard, dwarf fruit trees have been created, which do not exceed 2–3 meters in height and give some delicious fruits if you take good care of them. Here are five types of dwarf fruit trees you should have!

Dwarf fruit trees perfect for small gardens

The columnar apricot

This dwarf fruit tree was specially created for use in small yards, as it does not exceed a height of 2.5 meters. After 2–3 years of planting, you will be able to harvest the fruit. The columnar apricot should be planted as early as spring or late autumn. Ideally, plant the apricot in a semi-shade, 50 cm deep.

In terms of care, the ax should be watered regularly and needs natural fertilizer to bear fruit. Fruits usually appear in the summer months (July and August).

Pink Poured Apple

We recommend that you plant this dwarf fruit tree in the yard because it is very resistant to both drought and severe frost. The apples it gives are sweet-sour and have a specific pink color. They can be used for jam and jam, but can also be eaten as such.

The plant reaches 2–3 meters in height and must be planted in spring, in March-May, or autumn, in September-October. The apple must be in the sun because it is a great lover of heat.

Dwarf kiwi apple

What would it be like to have an exotic fruit tree in the yard? You will be glad to hear that there are dwarf fruit trees that give mini-kiwis, about 3–4 centimeters. These fruits full of vitamin C are very sweet.

The kiwi tree grows up to four meters in height, needs well-drained soil, and should be planted at a depth of 70 centimeters. It can be placed in the sun or partial shade and the good news is that it is resistant to severe frosts, at temperatures of up to -30 degrees Celsius.

Like the Pink Poured Apple, it should be planted in the spring or fall. Warning: the dwarf kiwi tree grows in the form of a liana, so it needs support on which to grow immediately after planting.

Dwarf fig

The fig tree is a plant that will give you the sweetest fruit and, fortunately, it is not a pretentious fruit tree at all. It is resistant to drought and frost, but it is still recommended to put it in the house in winter if the temperatures drop a lot.

The dwarf fig does not exceed two meters in height and must be planted at a depth of 30 centimeters, in a sunny place. Figs begin to form in February and can be eaten in summer, in July.

Pomegranate

From a dwarf pomegranate, you will get some medium-sized fruits, with thin, pink, or creamy skin. They are not identical to ordinary pomegranates, but they are just as tasty and refreshing, due to their sour taste.

Dwarf pomegranate should be planted in spring or autumn, at a depth of 80 centimeters. It is the smallest fruit tree on our list (it does not exceed the height of 80 centimeters).

Dwarf pomegranate must be planted in the sun and withstand extreme temperatures, including winter. You will be able to enjoy the fruits between September and November.
