Different Types of Water

Artesian Water - Artesian Water is water that comes from the ground in a confined aquifer under positive pressure. The aquifer must be maintained at a lower level than the water. the positive pressure results from the impermeable rock and or clay surrounding its own permeable rock. introducing a well to an artesian aquifer would allow it to reach hydrostatic equilibrium as the well brings upon a balanced negative force. Due to the naturally occurring pressure encasing the rock, artesian water pumps without assistance and is free flowing.

Fluoridated Water - Fluoride is added to water to prevent cavities and tooth decay. Even though fluoride is naturally present in oceans and groundwater, it is added at a certain level to prevent cavities. Although fluoride can't fix cavities, it can reverse minor levels of tooth decay and prevent the forming of new cavities.

Mineral Water - mineral water comes from a spring that contains a number of minerals such as magnesium and calcium, which are essential elements for many bodily functions and developmental processes. Potable mineral water must contain a regulated amount of dissolved solids, remaining at levels over 250ppm, to be considered safe for consumption. Thus, natural sources must be protected for the water to remain unprocessed and be bottled directly.

Well Water - Wells are usually drilled and contains ground water that comes from tapping the water of an aquifer. Water from wells are obtained by a pump or buckets. Wells were a common source of water at one point but is used less in modern times due to indoor plumbing being available. Different types of wells are Dug Wells - Dug Wells are usually built by the community and are still regularly used in some rural areas to this day, Driven Wells - created in unconsolidated material with a well hole structure, which consists of a hardened drive point and a screen (perforated pipe). The point is hammered into the ground, usually with a tripod and driver, with pipe sections added as needed. A driver is a weighted pipe that slides over the pipe being driven and is repeatedly dropped on it, and Drilled Wells - are created with drilling machines and can get water from a much deeper level than dug wells. Drilled wells are cased by welding steel either chemically or thermally.

Purified Water - Purified Water is mechanically process which remove impurities making it safe to drink. In order to be considered purified water, it has to be produced by deionization, carbon filtering, microfiltration, reverse osmosis, electrodeionization, ultraviolet, or ultrafiltration.

Distilled Water - Distilled Water is a form of Purified Water. This water is boiled into a vapor and condensed back into a liquid. During this process impurities and electrolytes are removed. Distilled water is safe to drink but although it does lack it's natural minerals.

Spring Water - Spring Water for flows naturally to the earth's surface from a underground formation. There are many different types of spring which include: Depression Springs - which occurs along a depression, Contact Springs-which occurs when the groundwater is underlayer by an impermeable layer of rock or soil alongside a hill or mountain, Fracture (joint, or tubular) Springs - occurs when groundwater meets a crack or joint in the rock while running along an impermeable layer of rock, Artesian Springs - this spring is formed when the groundwater pressure becomes greater than the atmosphere pressure forcing the water straight up out of the ground, Wonky Holes - a freshwater spring for submarine exit points, Karst Spring - these springs are usually fed by underground drainage from a large catchment basin therefore they tend to have very high discharge rates, and Hot Springs - the groundwater from these springs rises from the Earth's crust. People tend to bathe in some of these springs for therapeutic benefits but not all of these springs are at a safe temperature and can be harmful.
