Let's prevent Covid 19 spread

Recent health news suggests that COVID-19, flu, and RSV cases are rising. I feel better having an action plan for me and my family without getting these. It was the lesson that I learned from the past pandemic.

The past pandemic taught me much more lessons than I anticipated. My biggest lesson was that prevention is much easier and more economical than suffering from the disease.

The COVID-19 pandemic has taught us the importance of understanding how the virus spreads and taking necessary precautions to protect ourselves and others. One key aspect to grasp is the contagious period of the virus. Here, I am writing about the details I have explored regarding how long COVID-19 is contagious, the basic measures for you and me to adapt for prevention, and how to prepare for the possible outcomes.

Contagious Period:

COVID-19 primarily spreads through respiratory droplets when an infected person talks, coughs, or sneezes. The contagious period, or when an individual can spread the virus to others, generally begins a few days before symptoms appear and can extend up to 10 days after symptoms start. We are more contagious in the first three days but have no symptoms.

So, it is always better to keep our preventive measures as much as possible to prevent this illness.

What are the prevention measures that we can adopt?

1. **Vaccination:**

Getting vaccinated is one of the most effective ways to protect yourself and others from severe illness and reduce the spread of the virus. Vaccination helps prevent infection and lowers the risk of severe outcomes if you contract the virus. Most importantly, vaccinated people are less contagious than others.

2. **Wearing Masks:**

Masks act as a barrier, preventing respiratory droplets from reaching others. Wear masks, especially in crowded or indoor settings, to reduce the risk of contracting and spreading the virus. It’s better to buy some masks and keep them because with the last pandemic, both the availability and affordability went up.

3. **Hand Hygiene:**

Regularly washing hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or using an alcohol-based hand sanitizer helps eliminate viruses on hands. Avoid touching your face, especially the eyes, nose, and mouth. The past pandemic taught us the same lesson: buying and keeping the most effective and quality hand sanitizers with us is better.

4. **Social Distancing:**

Maintaining a safe distance of at least six feet from others helps minimize the risk of virus transmission. Avoid large gatherings and opt for outdoor activities where the risk of transmission is lower.

5. **Good Respiratory Hygiene:**

Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or elbow when you cough or sneeze. Dispose of used tissues properly and wash your hands immediately to prevent the spread of respiratory droplets.

6. **Regular Cleaning and Disinfection:**

Regularly clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces, such as doorknobs, light switches, and electronic devices. Cleaning helps eliminate any virus particles that may be present. Especially if you are a mum, think about it more. Regular and quality cleaning can lower the spread.

7. **Stay Informed and Follow Guidelines:**

Stay updated on the latest information and guidelines provided by health authorities. Follow recommendations for testing, isolation, and quarantine to prevent the further spread of the virus.

8. **Take measures to boost immunity**.

To boost immunity, you need to practice the measures for some time. It will take time. The following steps can boost our immunity.

Eating healthy and immune-boosting foods.

Getting immune-boosting vitamins regularly for you and your family.

Having a better sleep

Taking measures to lower your stress level

Involving in exercises and physical activities.

Conclusion:

Understanding the contagious period of COVID-19 and adopting preventive measures are crucial steps in curbing the spread of the virus. By getting vaccinated, wearing masks, practicing good hand hygiene, maintaining social distancing, and staying informed, we can all create a safer environment for ourselves and those around us. Do not wait until the last moment to get prepared. Do the possible personal and family measures before it becomes a crisis. Together, we can overcome the challenges posed by the pandemic and work towards a healthier future.
