Here are some of the more obscure life hacks that not many people know about.

1. Keep Shoes From Slipping Off

If you have a pair of shoes that tend to slip off your feet, there’s a simple way to keep them in place. All you need is a few rubber bands and a few minutes. First, take the rubber bands and wrap them around the heel of the shoe. Then, loop the bands around the ankle of the foot and tie them together. This will create a makeshift ankle strap, which will keep the shoes snug against your feet.

2. Keep Your Phone Charged While

If you’re traveling, it can be difficult to keep your phone charged. An easy way to do this is to buy a portable power bank. These are small, rechargeable batteries that you can carry with you and plug your phone into when it needs a charge. Most power banks are slim and easy to carry, so you can slip them into your pocket or backpack and forget about them until you need them.

3. Remove Scuff Marks

If you have scuff marks on your floors or walls, there’s an easy way to get rid of them. All you need is some white vinegar and a soft cloth. Mix a few tablespoons of white vinegar with a cup of warm water and dip the cloth into the solution. Then, gently rub the scuff mark with the cloth until it disappears. The vinegar will help break down the dirt and grime, making it easy to wipe away.

4. Get Rid of Static Cling

Static cling can be a nuisance, especially in the winter months when the air is dry. To get rid of static cling, all you need is a dryer sheet. Simply wipe the dryer sheet along the fabric to neutralize the electrical charge and eliminate the static cling. You can also add a few dryer sheets to the dryer when drying clothes to prevent static cling from occurring.

5. Unclog a Toilet

If you’ve ever experienced a clogged toilet, you know how frustrating it can be. Luckily, there’s an easy way to clear the clog without having to call a plumber. All you need is a plunger. Make sure the plunger is properly submerged in the water, then push down and pull up several times to create a suction that will dislodge the clog. If this doesn’t work, you can always try pouring a few cups of baking soda and vinegar down the toilet and letting it sit for a few minutes before flushing.

6. Get Rid of Stains

Stains can be a real pain to remove, especially if they’ve been sitting for a while. One way to get rid of stubborn stains is to use a paste made of baking soda and water. Simply mix the two together until it forms a thick paste, then apply it to the stain and let it sit for a few minutes. Once the paste has had a chance to work its magic, you can simply wipe it away.

7. Clean a Keyboard

Keyboards can get really dirty over time, as dust and dirt accumulate between the keys. To clean a keyboard without damaging it, all you need is a few cotton swabs, some rubbing alcohol and a can of compressed air. First, use the compressed air to blow away any dust and debris from between the keys. Then, dip the cotton swabs in the rubbing alcohol and clean the keys.
