Best Side Hustles to Make More Money and Be Financially Independent

Just imagine what an extra $500–1000 per month would do for you

The world is going through a difficult time due to inflation, wars, a lack of food supplies, poor governance, and a variety of other factors that have made things very expensive. If you only have one source of income these days, you're in big trouble. It is time to step outside of your comfort zone and generate a second or even third source of income in order to survive. Everyone would benefit from earning more money.

Consider what an additional $500-1000 per month could do for you. You could pay off your student loans, pay your electricity, groceries, and other household expenses, and take a weekend trip to reenergize and relax. You could also set aside some money and invest in assets such as stocks, cryptocurrency, or other investments to generate passive income.

For this article, I polled over 100 entrepreneurs from around the world to find out what the best side hustles are for making extra money. I received some fantastic responses from all of the entrepreneurs, but I had to narrow the list down to the top responses.

If you're struggling in your job and want to start a side business to supplement your income, this list is for you. Make a plan and focus on one of the ideas listed below, working and focusing on it until you move on to the next one. Everything requires time, patience, and persistence. Do not give up; believe in yourself, and you will succeed.

Create a Website: Do you have any experience with website creation? So why not put that talent to good use? HTML isn't necessary. You can now create a website in a matter of minutes. A website can be built using WordPress, Godaddy's website builder, or Namecheap's one-pager.

Affiliate marketing necessitates the creation of a personal website or blog. You will fail in the long run if you do not have a website or blog. You can include affiliate links to products on your website, and if your visitors make a purchase after clicking on an affiliate link, you will be compensated.

Paid Game Tester: While playing games for money can help you earn more money online, finding legitimate organizations to work for is nearly impossible.

There are a few things that busy people can do on the weekends to earn more money. One type of business is an eCommerce or drop-shipping operation. The cost of starting an online business is extremely low right now, and moms can use a print-on-demand or drop-shipping service to market items on their blogs and share them on social media. Another option is to design printables or planners that they would use and sell on Etsy or on their blogs. They can improve on what they are already doing or using, while also allowing others to benefit from the same organization, record-keeping, or documentation.

A second income is a great way to supplement your income, and there are numerous options. Whatever you decide, make sure you are maximizing your skills and strengths in order to be as successful as possible. Begin by creating an online course or a teaching workshop. You can teach people what you know in a fun and engaging format while earning a commission on every sale made through your Learning Portal using this approach. This type of venture requires little initial capital (other than time) but has the potential to provide long-term financial security if done correctly.

For people with full-time jobs, video editing as a side hustle can be a lucrative source of income. You can begin by making and editing short videos to build your portfolio. Once you've mastered the fundamentals of video editing, start creating videos for brands as a side hustle. Because video content has seen a significant increase in engagement and popularity, most brands want to invest more in video content marketing.

Many people's lives have been altered by freelancing since the pandemic ushered in a new era of working from home. Offer your services on a freelance platform if you are a skilled professional, are studying to become one, or simply know how to perform a specific job and are good at it.

From translation and transcription to virtual assistance and teaching, freelancing is a great way to supplement your income. You can choose how much to charge and how many hours you're available to work, allowing you to tailor it to your schedule. Depending on what you offer, freelancing can help you earn anywhere from a few hundred to thousands of dollars.

Deliver Food And Groceries: Following closely behind ridesharing is the delivery of food and groceries. This has become one of the world's fastest-growing trends, and as such, it's one of the best side hustles. If you don't like having strangers in your car but still want to earn money on your own terms, this is a great option. The only disadvantages are that you can't do it all of the time (restaurants aren't usually open at 2 a.m.) and you may earn less than traditional ridesharing. However, it is still a fantastic way to make more money!

Start a Wholesale Company Starting an online store using wholesale could be ideal if you like the idea of running an online business but prefer to be more hands-on. This business model entails purchasing products in bulk at a lower cost and then selling them to customers at a higher retail price. Because you work directly with your products and suppliers, you can keep a close eye on their quality.

Tutoring You can get paid to tutor kids online if you're a teacher or anyone with a college degree. Teaching English as a second language to children in other countries is one of the fastest growing areas of demand right now. One advantage is the elimination of time zone differences. Because our nighttime in the United States is typically the daytime in other countries, this is the ideal side hustle if you want to work from home, on your computer, at night.

Microtasker: Making money with these microtasks will not take long. It won't be easy to take down the big bucks with them, but they'll add up over time because you have so many options.

Moderating content, editing, online research, sorting data, audio transcription, text creation, and video/audio/photo services are examples of microtasks.

Creating resumes: With so many resumes being submitted to recruiters and companies, it is critical to ensure that the resume contains the necessary information and is properly formatted to help you land the job. This is where your side hustle comes in, making people's resumes interesting enough for them to be hired! An average resume writer earns around $20 per hour, which is a fair wage.

Bloc is a unique type of side income that anyone can benefit from. The basic premise is that Bloc compensates people for attending venues and events that they would otherwise attend. Every single venue in the world is on Bloc, allowing people to check in to any venue they visit. The average user earns around £500 per month, with some earning up to £3000. If people are going to these places anyway, such as the cafe before work, they might as well get rewarded for going and earn more money.

Proofreading for various languages is extremely popular online, with demand for English proofreading skyrocketing whenever there is a major international event such as the Olympics or the World Cup. Freelance proofreaders only need to create accounts on popular services like Scribbr to earn a sizable amount of money for their efforts.

If you live in a suburban area, power washing is an excellent way to quickly earn extra money on the side. Simply go door to door with a pressure washer and charge anywhere from $100 to $300 for a couple of hours of work, depending on the size of the house.

For people who know anything about clothing, flipping clothes from thrift stores has become a very popular side hustle. You can find good brands in thrift stores and sell them on eBay for a good profit if you know what to look for. Most thrift store flippers make about $300 per month selling clothes.

I believe that one of the best investments and sources of side income in 2022 is aged-domain website building. You can purchase an old, unused website and redesign it until it begins to generate revenue for you. It's similar to house flipping, but without the trash. The internet is now a business, and if you're looking for a way to supplement your income, refurbishing an old website is a great way to get started.

Become a virtual assistant: As businesses increasingly move online, the demand for virtual assistants is also on the rise. If you have strong administrative and communication skills, working as a virtual assistant could be a great way to supplement your income.

Photography: Photography is a highly sought-after skill, and it allows me to supplement my income. Set up a mini studio in your home for product photography if you're a talented photographer. Another option is to do event photography, which does not require you to keep a studio because you will be traveling to the events.

Selling Items: Selling items you no longer need is an excellent way to declutter your home while also earning some extra cash. Hold a garage sale, sell items on the internet, or donate to a consignment shop.

Do you have a talent for taking great photographs? Sell your photographs as stock photos or start your own photography business.

If you enjoy writing, you could start a blog or work as a freelance writer. There are numerous ways to monetize your writing, such as through advertising or the sale of e-books and courses.

Everyone's risk tolerance varies, but co-investing on a platform like PrimeXBT with a proven trader has been a very effective side hustle for me. Choose a trader whose risk tolerance matches yours, deposit a small amount of money (always money you can afford to lose), and sit back and let them do the work. With some very successful traders offering 1-10% weekly, this adds up quickly and can provide an excellent secondary source of income. It is, however, a riskier strategy, so always be prepared.

Become a voice actor. Voiceovers are frequently used in video content and advertising, and most businesses outsource their voiceover creation to freelancers. If you are a good public speaker, you can easily find voiceover projects online.

A second side hustle, in my opinion, has the benefit of extra money but, perhaps more importantly, is a huge confidence builder because it shows you that there are many ways to make money and gain fulfillment. If you own an RV or a camper, you can start a side business. Consider Airbnb for your camper. Outdoorsy, RVShare, and other websites make it simple to rent your camping/RV equipment. That's exactly what we did. It also demonstrated to my sons that business ownership is a viable option that could be very beneficial to them later in life.
