Christmas is a time of year where people spend time with their families to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. Everyone spends more time together enjoying the festivities and taking part in different activities with friends and family. Unfortunately for the past couple of years, people round the world haven't had chance to spend much time with friends and family due to the Covid 19 pandemic. This is a brand new disease that no one knew how to deal with.

It was discovered that the disease passed from person to person depending on the amount of social contact we all had with each other. It is because of this that a number of restrictions had to be put in place to try and stop the spread of the disease round the world. This meant that most of the time people had to work from home to try and restrict the amount of social contact we all had with each other.

Unfortunately this also meant that people had to stay at home as much as possible. Due to this, the amount of foot fall that different businesses had was drastically effected meaning that they didn't bring in as much revenue as they used to. This in turn could have affected the amount they paid their staff as if no money is coming in, there is no money to pay staff and contributors with. This meant that people didn't have as much in their pay packets and couldn't afford the luxuries that they normally did.

Due to the pandemic, people were advised not to have a big celebration at Christmas time last year. This may have meant that they would have missed out on the only time that they would have got to see many members of their family that they don't normally see that often.

That's why this year was meant to be the time when people could have a big celebration as all Covid 19 have been lifted. Unfortunately though cases of the virus have been increasing due to the new South African variant which is now quickly spreading further round the world.

Two girls aged twelve and eight are attempting to make life a little bit easy for people who may be less fortunate than others this Christmas. They are taking on a number of roles to help raise funds for the production of hampers to ensure that people who may be struggling financially at this time of year, don't end up going with out and are able to enjoy some of the festive treats that other families will be enjoying at this time of year.

Between them, they would be happy to bake a scrumptious two tier cake or six cup cakes. They will be doing this, bearing in mind that they are not professionals but do have a food safety certificate which should alay any fears about whether what is produced is safe to consume or not.

As well as this, they would be happy to walk any small dogs around the Seacombe area and will be making a selection of Christmas cards, arts and crafts which will be sold for donations and put towards a hamper. They are hoping to hold this event at the church but confirmation of the exact location and time will be announced in due course.

If anyone has anything spare, just lying round and gathering dust, they were just wondering if you would consider donation such items to the production of the hampers to help those who may be less fortunate.
