90% People Don’t Know This About Underwear

Benefits, Mistakes & The Right Way to Wear It

Almost every one of us wears underwear every day, but if someone is asked what the real need is, most people cannot give a clear answer. The truth is that it has become just a habit. But when we understand the reason and scientific aspect behind it, it is found that underwear plays an important role in our cleanliness, comfort and health.

Let's talk about cleanliness first. Our body sweats throughout the day, especially in the summer season. Apart from this, natural fluids also come out of the body. If there is no layer to absorb all of this, it all gets directly on our upper clothes, such as pants or trousers. Underwear is the solution to this problem. It absorbs sweat and moisture, which keeps the upper clothes clean for a long time. And of course, it is easy to change underwear every day, while it is not possible to wash jeans or pants every day.

Another important advantage is protection against friction. When we wear thick or tight clothing, such as jeans, they constantly rub against the skin. This is especially a problem between the thighs, which can cause irritation, redness, and itching. Underwear provides a soft layer that protects the skin from direct friction and gives a comfortable feeling.

The third benefit is support, which is especially important for men. Daily activities such as walking, running, exercising, or cycling—all of which require support for certain parts of the body. Proper underwear provides this support, which reduces unnecessary movement and prevents discomfort or pain. This is why it is advisable to wear special types of underwear during sports.

The fourth benefit is that it provides a kind of veil. Sometimes light or thin clothes can show body structure or sweat marks, which can be embarrassing. Underwear acts as an extra layer in this situation and gives you confidence.

The fifth benefit is that your expensive clothes will last longer. Sweat and natural oils from the body can quickly deteriorate if they come into direct contact with the clothes. Underwear absorbs all of these, which increases the lifespan of the clothes above.

Now, if we talk about the disadvantages, they are mostly due to misuse. For example, wearing underwear that is too tight is a common problem. Especially if it is made of synthetic fabrics, it increases the temperature of sensitive parts of the body. In men, this can also affect sperm health, so choosing the right size and fabric is very important.

Similarly, fabrics that do not allow air to pass through, such as nylon or polyester, keep moisture inside. When heat and sweat accumulate in this closed environment, it causes fungal infections, itching, and irritation. This problem is common in men as well as women.

Another mistake that many people make is that they wear underwear 24 hours a day, even while sleeping. The body also needs rest and air, especially at night when it is repairing itself. If it is kept closed constantly, skin problems can arise.

Wearing dirty or damp underwear is also harmful to health. If the same underwear is worn for several days or is not dried properly after washing, it can cause the growth of bacteria and fungi, which causes odor and infection.

Now the question is, when is it necessary to wear underwear? When you are going out of the house—be it to the office, college or the market—it is necessary to wear underwear. Similarly, it is very important during exercise, sports or any physical activity, because at that time the body needs more support. It is better to wear underwear even under tight clothes to avoid friction.

On the contrary, there are some situations where it may be better not to wear underwear. For example, if you wear loose clothing and no underwear while sleeping, your body can breathe and the risk of skin problems is reduced. Similarly, if you are alone at home and are wearing comfortable, loose clothes, underwear is not necessary.

When it comes to the best fabric, cotton is considered the best choice. It is soft, absorbs sweat and allows air to pass through, keeping the body dry and cool.

Finally, remember a few simple rules: always choose the right size, change your underwear daily, prefer cotton, and give your body some freedom before going to bed.

So it will be beneficial for both your health and comfort.
